Someone Help Please! I Need Awnsers! Posted: 02-26-07 09:43am
Okay for the past week i've had a yeast
infection and i've been taking monistat 3
and it didnt work as fast as i thought it
would. So i read something on the web
that said a home remedy for a yeast
infection is to put yogurt in your vagina,
because the live cultures in yogurt will
kill off the yeast infection. So i did as
it said and inserted some plain yogurt
with live cultures into my vagina with a
syringe. Needless to say the next morning
i wake up in more pain than i have been in
this whole week.
When i go to the bathroom it burns sooooo
much when i urinate and it feels really
itchy. My vagina looks so red and
inflamed. I
don't know what to do? I've read so many
sites that say that the yogurt is supposed
to kill the yeast and stop the itching and
burning. So why hasn't this worked for me?
I'm not allergic to yogurt or anything so
i dont know what it could be. Someone
please help i dont think i can take the
pain much longer, it hurts so much.

I have heard that yogurt prevents and
helps to treat yeast infections......but I
have never heard to put it directly in the
vagina. Just eating the yogurt is
supposed to be all you need. When I was
on an antibiotic I got a yeast infection
and bought the Monistat 3 it didn't help
either. I went back to the store and
bought the Monistat 7 day. After 3 days I
was much better. I would suggest you try
and to get out the yogurt first! If you
don't feel better after a few days you
should call your doctor. It's possible
you have vaginosis which is a bacterial
infection that has similiar symptoms to a
yeast infection. You will need
antibiotics to treat this. Hope you feel
better soon.

Yogurt is full of bacteria!! XD
I'd never stick yogurt up there... Wow.
Get that washed out; you'll probably feel
better instantly. Then go to the doctor!
If you just have a yeast infection, Then
get some monistat like momof2boys
suggested. Otherwise, the doc will give
you meds.

use this and it works for me very well!!!
available on prescription only though!
also try a nice warm bath ! and do not use
bubbles or oils which will make things
worse. little epson salts is ok!

Thanks for
all the awnsers everyone i appreciate your
advice, and if you go to http://www.msu.edu/user/e
isthen/yeast/ and than go to do it
yourself treatments it says that you
should put yogurt up there to kill the
yeast infection and i've heard it works
alot. I've even seen it in other websites,
and if you go to yahoo and google and
search for it, you will see tons of places
that say that it is safe and it does kill
the yeast. Dont believe me search for it.
Anyway back to my story.
Fortuanately that same week when i posted
my question i couldnt take the pain
anymore so i went to a doctor, turns out
it wasn't a yeast infection at all it was
a urinary tract infection, so i guess
using the monistat was not a good idea.
After all of this
i've learned a valuable lesson which is,
don't use any form of medication or home
remedy cures until you know exactly what
it is you have. Next time i feel sick i
know to go to the doctor first. Thanks everyone
again for all your awnsers.

I would heavily advise against putting
yogurt up your vagina, or anything else
aside from a clean sex toy (the variety
and definition of that is endless), lube,
or a penis!
Yogurt has yeast in it, so how in
the world is it supposed to kill the yeast
in a vaginal yeast infection? I can only
see it making it much worse.

The kind of yeast that is on the body is a
different kind of yeast than the one we
eat. Don't ever put food inside your
body!!!! I have little faith that it would
actually work... you can find lots of
things on web sites that aren't true.
Also, the first time you think you have a
yeast infection you are supposed to get it
checked to make sure it is a yeast
infection before you start taking
medication, because it could be many other
things. You shouldn't self-medicate unless
you are sure...

Yogurt Is Good For You Inside And Outside Posted: 05-25-07 01:03am
Yogurt douches are actually very good for
curing yeast infections. You use a diluted
solution of yogurt and warm water. The
yogurt must be unflavored and without
sugars.
I've also used Culturelle capsules with
even greater success. I remove one half of
the capsule and insert. This solution has
a faster cure rate than yogurt.
The key is to continue with inserting the
capsules two times a day until 7 to 10
days after there are no symptoms of a
yeast infection. This can be alternated
with diluted white vinegar or apple cider
vinegar douches. But it is best to put a
capsule in at bed time so that it remains
there all night while you're asleep. I
also take the yogurt capsules by mouth at
the same time.
The bad part about medicines which kill
yeast is they kill off the healthy
bacterias in your body.
I myself prefer the natural method rather
than medicines.

That's what I have heard too. When my
mother had a yeast infection, her doctor
told her to put unflavored yogurt into her
vagina. She said she could use a tampon,
dip it in yogurt, and insert it to get it
in there. I have never tried it myself.

I would personally never
try it. I took medicine for my yeast
infection, just one pill, and it worked
just fine.
How exactly does yogurt in your vagina
make it all better?

The yogurt acts by changing the ph of your
vaginal secretions and helps restore
healthy bacteria. Yogurt contains
Lactobacillus acidophilus, a bacterium
found in healthy vaginas, which kills
yeast by producing hydrogen peroxide.
I have also used the liquid Lactobacillus
acidophilus which you can find in health
food stores in the refrigerator section.
Also Boric Acid/Borax kills severe or
persistent yeast infections. Insert 2
capsules filled with Boric Acid into your
vagina every night for a week. I tried it
one night but didn't like the effect in my
body.
