when baby kicks for the first time? Does it feel like a fluttering, like a butterfly, or is it a big kick? I felt my stomach fluttering, but Im not sure that was the baby kicking. It was really light but I felt something. I dont think it was gas.

it's might be your baby kicking. your kidlett may just be moving around in there. i thought it was gas for the longest time until the ultrasound chick was like do you feel your baby moving in there? i was like no but then the next day i could feel her moving around. when they kick youwill know it it's crazy

in early pregnancy it felt like gas to me ...then butterflies and then it was just a person moving and kicking inside...it changes as your pregnancy progresses.

Well
I am eleven weeks. My bff said that when she was prego with her first child she felt flutters at the same time. So im hoping that is what I felt because when I saw the doc last week they didnt pick up the heart beat on the doppler thing. And so I was worried it wasnt there anymore.

i'm sorry, but 11 weeks is *way* too early to feel anything. most first time moms don't feel movement until 18-22 weeks.

don't be concerned if you didn't hear the heartbeat on the doppler, it may be too early. i think the average is about 12 weeks for that but it's different for everyone. i'm sure you'll hear it at your next appointment!

most first time mothers dont' feel their babies move until after 16 weeks. it may just be gas at this time.

if your obgyn couldn't find the heartbeat and there was something for you to worry about they would have expressed this to you. sometimes this is just a little early. they didnt' try finding mine til after 12 weeks. i was haveing ultrasounds everymonth though because of complications. your baby is fine. if you are really worried about it you should contact your ob.

I keep thinking that I feel the baby but I think that it is too early. I only feel the movement whenever I am laying on my belly or pushing something up against my stomach (like carrying a box or leaning against the counter). My sister said that she felt it that early with her first and that it might be because I am skinny. I don't know. I could be totally wrong. I figure that I won't even think about it much and then when I know that I am feeling him move then I guess I will believe it.

Yeah
I am a petite girl myself. I was laying on my side trying to sleep when I felt the little flutter. It went away then a few secods later it came back. I didnt know what it was. I had never felt it before. It was just ever so lightly when it happened.

there's no way you felt fetal movement at 11 weeks. i don't want to burst your bubble but it's just not possible.

at 11 weeks:
"Your baby is about 1.61 inches (4.1 cm) long and weighs 0.25 ounce (7gm)."

no way at 11 weeks 1st time pregnancy or not! you being petite has nothing whatsoever to do with anything...

I felt bubbles pretty early, but i think that was mostly gas! I got my flutters around 16 wks and now at 22 wks I feel him kick, very faintly but it certainly isn't flutters.
all the ultrasound technicians I've seen havent done anything but laugh at how active he is in there. They all say I'm gonna have a fun time once he get's bigger Confused
I recently had to go to maternity because I had some difficulties. They hooked me up to the machine that measures contractions (obviously I wasn't having contractions they just wanted to be 100% sure) but I guess it can also pick up babies movements. the paper just kept spiking and the doctor even made a comment about how often he was moving!
Will how active a baby is determine how soon you feel movement?
just wondering.
