Where Do Your Beliefs Stem From?

Ok, as I'm ill and a little bored I
thought I'd post a new topic and this was
all I could think of lol
Where is it that your pro-choice/pro-life
beliefs come from? Is there a particular
incident/were you brought up to believe as
you do?
Personally since I was taught about birth
control etc.. I have believed in a womans
right to abortion but it strengthened when
I faced an unwanted pregnancy after I'd
been careful - that did make me realise
that things can happen beyond our control
and that I believe you should have the
right to 'rectify' it in a way you see
fit...

Good question .Moo!
My beliefs are all my own insomuchas I
have no personal experience of abortion
(excluding family and friends) but have
done a lot of thinking on the subject and
come to my own views. The problem I have
is that I am neither completely pro-life
nor pro-choice but am still finding my
way. That's why I enjoy this board so
much!
I think abortion is morally wrong but
because I don't believe in a god, i accept
that these are my morals and I can't expect
everyone else to live by them. Also, i
consider abortion morally wrong and yet if
i was told my unborn baby had terrible
birth defects, I would most likely
abort...
Is there such a thing as a non-judgemental
pro-lifer? If there is, then that's what
i try to be

personal to discuss here.

I'm so sorry
Excuse my ignorance but by 'crisis'
pregnancy do you mean unplanned or
something like an ectopic?

I believe what I do because I feel women
should control over their own bodies
(including what's inside it). Why should
the 'rights' of a clump of cells trump
those of a breathing, thinking, and
probably working woman?

Well, as a parent, the woman has the
responsibility to do what is best for the
fetus, and in many cases, abortion is the
best action to take. She cannot properly
care for the child, and she knows that
ending its life before it can feel pain,
hunger and sadness, is truly being humane.

I voted "other" because there was no
option for "all of the above".
I think abortion is awful, and it sucks,
but until society fixes some serious
problems there is a definate need for it.

Why can't you just answer the question?
We are fully aware of what abortion is and
that it kills a z/e/f that wasn't what
this was about

Well my beliefs stem from common sense of
respect for human life. I just believe
there is no reason to kill any healthy
human being just because it hasn't passed
through a vagina.

My beliefs stemmed from my childhood and
my parents, we are 6 kids, I am the eldest
and I always felt like my parents never
had enough time for me. I worked really
hard to get their attention in a good way
and well they failed to notice my efforts.
It got to a point that I got into alot of
bad stuff and well I had my attention but
I dug my grave so deep at one point that
they were to the point of disowning me.
I understand children are beautiful but I
think depending on the persons sanity,
patience and morals they should know their
limit to having kids/raising them. I love
my children to death but I refuse to have
anymore cause I wouldnt be able to take
care of them emotionally or financially.
I also feel a woman should have a right to
make decisions with her own life/body.
Woman should have equal rights to
adoption, parenting and abortion no matter
their views, religion or beliefs.
I also feel a woman who had an abortion,
should not be made to feel guilty and well
vice versa for parenting or adoption.
I had another pregnancy scare and Ill tell
you adoption and abortion were at the top
of my mind but I would have felt guilty if
I got an abortion, thing is I pride my
children and will put them/myself above
anything that can impede giving them my
time or finances.
Sorry to ramble
