Increased Sex Drive After Off Bc Pill? Posted: 08-26-03 15:16pm
Are there any ladies out there that have
experienced increased sex drive after you
get off bc? Or if you had decreased sex
drive after getting on bc? If so, which
pill was it?

I recently got off the pill. I have had
little increase in sex drive. I seem to
want to have sex only certain times of the
month. I am married and happy. I am able
to orgasm when we do have sex. However, I
think the lack of desire is a hormonal
problem. I came to the forums to ask if
anyone has tried avlimil. It is a
non-hormonal pill that is supposed to
increase sex drive. It might be worth a
try, however, it will be expense. I think
they are asking 75 bucks!!!! For that
kind of money I better see some dramatic
results!!

I am hoping that low sex drive is because
of the b/c pill because I am also
experiencing low (if any) sexual desire
with my boyfriend who i've been with for 4
years. I have been on the pill for most
of our relationship so I am really hoping
that it's because of that beacuse I do
expect us to get married but how will
things be in the future if I can't even
get into it now? Does anyone else
experience this type of thing? I used to
really enjoy sex (when I first started)
and it's just not an interest of mine
anymore....

Tcully - i'm in the same boat!!!!! I feel
the same as you do.... I came to this
forum to see if anyone knew of any pills,
creams, etc. That would counteract the
low sex drive......
I've found a few things... Some say check
w/ your doctor first (would be afraid it
would mess with the pill) and the creams I
tried seemed to help a little but they
were outrageous!!!
I recently went back to the gyno. I
didn't ask her about sex drive, but she
did put me on the nuvaring. It's a
vaginal ring. It is supposed to be the
lowest dose you can get. I haven't been
on it long enough to compare it with the
pill. Will let you know if I experience
fewer side affects....

Friendlyfoe....Thanks for the info! At
least i'm not alone on this! I knew I
wasn't but to just hear it personally from
someone else has helped. The thing is I
haven't really talked to my b/f about
this...I am afraid he thinks I am just not
interested in having sex with him.
Hopefully he will understand the reasons
why. Also...I have never even heard of
the nuvaring but I just looked on a
website and it looks really interesting!
I didn't even know it existed. Please
let me know how it works for you. I am
going to my gyno in november so maybe I
will mention it to her. Thanks again!!!
Anyone else has any advice or info...Feel
free! Thanks again.

Ask your gyno what she recomends about the
low sex drive. Wish I would have
remembered.
The nuvaring is very easy to use!! The
trick is to use a tampon applicator!!!
I just purchased emerita response cream
for less than 30 bucks. It got good
reviews. Will let you know if I like
it!!!

Yes, let me know how it goes...More so the
nuvaring than the cream because i'm afraid
my problem might be based more around
actually wanting sex. It's actually
wanting to get into it that I have a
problem with. I have no desire to, I
guess I don't really get turned on
anymore. I know 100% it's not my
boyfriend so I know it's not a
psychological/relationship issue. I
used to really enjoy sex and now its' just
not something that I care about. That
can't be healthy. And I just can't
imagine things any worse when we're
finally married. Anways, please keep me
posted and let me know how the cream works
too! Thanks so much for your input!
