I Have a Problem...off the Subject.... Posted: 02-12-04 10:09am
Hi guys, remember me? Well, if not my
name is ashleigh and i'm in texas. I had
a miscarriage about 3 weeks ago, thank
goodness I was only 3 weeks along, but
still it hurt! Here is my problem..It's
not really with pregnancy, but I need some
advice! Okay, it all goes back to high
school....I was in the 11th grade and got
really messed up on drugs, but the timei
was graduating, I couldn't live without
coke....It was a necessity...Anyways, my
parents found out and immediately got me
help-thank god, and i've been clean for
almost a year now. The thing is I hung
out with the same 4 girls in high school
all 5 years.....When I got kicked out of
college, they completely dropped me
because they said that I was a "nothing"
and a "waste of good talent"( I was on a
full-ride golf scholarship to the
university of northtexas) it was then
that I went into full rehab. Anyways, I
haven't talked to these girls in months
and all of a sudden, the night before
last, jessica, who goes to school in
missouri called me (i don't know where she
got my new cell phone #)but she did and
she was just going off about how she
thought I wasn't even alive anyomre
(implying I died from bulemia, which I
also struggled with in high school) and
how my boyfriend was a loser....The shitty
thing is another girl, sarah, her mom is a
probation officer and she looked up my
boyfriend's background for her daughter
and told her everything that was on
derek's record, (which really sucks,
because now he's in school, has a great
job and has completely done a complete
turnaround since he used to get in
trouble: he always reminds me that we are
living for a today to make a future for
ourselves, not for the moment ) now
thanks to sarah the whole world
knows....They all think i'm a loser, and
he's a loser, and I know now what kind of
friends they are.....My parents are behind
me all the way, like they've always been
and as soon as I finish college, derek and
I are getting married and moving
away....Far away, I can't keep living like
this, it's like my past will taunt me
forever! Anyways, thank the lord I have
derek, he's the only thing that keeps me
going sometimes....And my family! Please
give any advice you like, anything would
help right now! Thanks....Ashleigh

Hi there ashleigh. I really dont know
what 2 say huni-im sorry about the
miscarriage.It seems like you've been
through a lot but ur lucky u have ppl
around u that care about u like derek and
ur family.It'll be hard 2 move on from ur
past-its part of u but like u say,maybe
soon u can start a new life and be away
from all that.
I think it was very inappropriate of that
girls mom 2 tell her what was on derek's
record-this is confidential information im
sure and maybe u shud complain about this
because its not right.Why shud he be
judged when he's cleaned his act up.
All I can say is I hope things
improve-take all the help u can get &
never give up hope

Hello there!
I'll try to give u the best of my advice
but i'm not quite sure what to say... I'd
tell u not to listen to those people, and
that they're just losers for saying stuff
like that... But we all know it still
hurts when people think that way. I've
felt like that in my school for a long
time (congrats on ur scholarship by the
way!) some people are rude while others
are still my good friends but ive wanted
to move for 4 years now but I had to stick
it out, and i'm glad! I would say, screw
ur friends... They aint friends.. U
could find much better... And as for ur
boyfriend? Sounds like he straightnened
up good and people should respect hes
changed so much... But some people are
idiots... But as long as u and your
boyfriend are together.. U should do
fine.. Just finish off ur college with
him by your side, find some new friends
someplace else, go meet some at the bar or
malls or some activity or some sort...
But just get rid of those old past
friends.. U dont wanan get dragged in it
like before... I hope ive helped :s

Thanks girls, you have made me feel much
better:) I am better than th ose girls
and so is derek, just like he always
says....It's pretty sad that those girls
don't have anything better to do than
snoop around in my life, that they no
longer have anything to do with and find
out what i'm doing wrong now......Screw
them!! I'm not gonna give them the
satisfaction of letting it bother me!

need 2 go finding stuff out about u behind
ur back.Dont be ashamed of ur past-its
part of u & you can never get rid of
it.Just let them know ur not ashamed &
that u have nothing to hide-they'll soon

Firstly I know its hard but just forget
about them they are just jealous of wot u
have and are trying to destroy everything
that u have worked hard for. And
secondly ur friend whos mum is the
probation officer isnt there some
confidential thing they undertake that
they are not allowed to release
information about their clients or past
clients as the case may b. I would look
into that I know it might be infuriating
the situation and u may want to just let
it go but if it were me I would be
complaining to the department afterall
didnt u and ur bf pay ur debt to society
and are no entitled to live a happy life
without ur past following u guys.
