Bath Seats?
Posted: 02-28-07 15:50pm

what age are those bath ring/seat things recommended for?

finn's outgrown his baby tub and he's getting too big for the sink. he's also looking interested in splashing and toys in the tub so i'd love to sit him in the big tub.

if he can sit up on his own he can use it..otherwise hes just gonna topple over and squirm and you wont be able to bathe him.

I've been wondering the same thing.

If they can sit assisted, can they use one? Alyvia can sit in her bumbo like a pro, in laps, and in her floppy seat inside a high chair, but she can't sit on the floor with no support - she topples over.

i think alot are 6 mths up depending on the type u get, the safety first i think would bea good one the one that has the part that latches on the side of the tub it doesnt seem soo spacy. i have that one and this red plastic one that joseph uses now that hes 18 mths old, there is also a tub that has a seat in it it can be used as either or, but u gotta lock it right or it leaks. i had that one too lol.

he can sit up by himself for the most part. occasionally he still tips over, especially if he's tired.

any brand recommendations? i think i'm going to get one next time i'm at toys r us and try it out. if it doesn't work out i'll just keep him in the sink until he really outgrows it.

safety first would be the best
that one wont like un suction from the bottom of the tub since it latches to the side

I just got .Amelia a little ducky tub. it's a blowup tub by .Munchkin. I can't see filling up my tub with water for just .Amelia. I don't take baths with her so i think it's just better for me and her, I won't have to put soo much water in it. so that will save there.

We use the safety first bath seat. As soon as finn can sit up then he can use it!

I must be the only one that doesn't use a bath seat. I have bathed .adriana in the sink since she was born. She's just about outgrowing the sink...only because she about floods us out of the kitchen every night. She sits up well enough to go in the bath tub, but I don't take my hand off her and it works pretty good. Tho lately she's been going on her belly and splashing...she spends too much time watching her "pishy's" (fishies)

i dont do kitchen sinks cause i was reading a mag and it said they did a study where they did sweeps of peoples houses to find where the most germs were...turns out kitchen sinks have more germs than a toilet seat Shocked

Yeah, that's why there are many disinfectants on the market for kitchen use. I scour my sink before she gets a bath. I'm worried for the people in your mag....what kind of people are they?

obviously people that don't use disinfectants. I have a friend (no names) and her refrigerator and stove are the most disgusting things that I've ever seen in my entire life!!!! I would never accept so much as a crust of bread when at her house. Her kitchen is nash-tay but the rest of her house is remarkably clean... Confused

I had one of those suction bathtubs with Nathan and it sucked. I was always with him (of course) and it tipped over on a couple of occasions. My bathtub did not hold suction. That was so frightening. I am definitely going to get the one that hooks onto the side of the tub. I think those things came out right before Nathan didn't need his anymore.
