that my bestfriend is pregnant with
twins...she is 33 she was pregnant bout 10
years ago but sadly miscarried....she has
been an emotional wreck crying everytime i

of loving these babies and she is afraid
that she wont be a good mother....i have
assured her time and again that she will
do just fine and that i will try too help
out as much as i can on my days off( i
live 3 hours away from her)...i have a
concern though and im hoping that someone
can ease my mind ...she has three cats at
home and im not sure how they will react
with the new new bodies soon too invade
there home ...do any of you ladies have
babies at home with cats and is there need
for her to be concerned?i no just one isnt
bad but id be afraid with three ...i dunno

It depends on the temperament of the cats,
I would assume. If they act at all
possessive or aggressive, she'll need to
find new homes for them. Also, cleanliness
is a big issue. She'll need to make sure
that the babies can't access the kitty
litter and/or food and water dishes.
She'll also need to vaccuum quite often to
manage cat hair.

i have 3 cats & i am almost 38wks
pregnant. one of my cats is a male &
very aggressive & i don't think i
would trust him around a baby. so when my
boyfriend & i get our own place, he's
staying behind. my other two cats are
female & they are extremely gentle
& laid back. i have no doubt they'll
do just fine with a baby around. like
.laura said, it's just a matter of what
kind of personalities & temperament
the cats have. she just needs to make sure
she keeps her cats healthy (free of ticks,
fleas, worms, etc) & clean the litter
box every single day once the baby is
born!

I wouldnt be that concerned.... There was
an article in the paper the other day bout
cats and babies and apparently they are
very good for each other!!! Children who
grow up with animals hardly ever have any
allergies - I didnt know that!!! And
secondly they love cats and cats love
them. I think maybe once in a while there
will be a scratch of some sort but not out
of aggresiveness purely out of playing...
This is just my sense I dont have cats but
I think they are much better than dogs!!

Just make sure she doesnt clean out the
litter boxes while pregnant ..it could
lead to toxoplasmosis
