Can Sleep Deprivation Cause Heart Problems? Posted: 03-02-07 09:24am
I have this new job where I work 11pm-7am
Sunday-Thursdays. Now, they said I can
sleep while im here but when i try to
sleep I end up being woken up by all kinds
of crazy sounds (loud bangs, clicks,
clacks, etc)//
Since that has been happening, I try to
avoid sleeping so I dont wake up to heart
palpitations and I havent been getting
enough sleep.
Now i feel this sinking feeling in the
middle of my chest around the area of my
heart. It feels like it could be
posterior to the sternum and superior to
the xyphoid process.
I have never had heart pains before, and
now that im not getting enough sleep I
think i may be causing myself this
discomfort..
any thoughts on this?

If you have any sort of anxiety disorder,
OCD, bipolar disorder the lack of sleep
will make these worst. You will have more
panic attacks, and manic episodes.
People have always said that lack of sleep
can't kill you. But I say it may not kill
you but it can drive a person insane.
If you are young, under 30, then you will
be able to do those hours easier. Plus
you will get used to it.
