Skipping a Few Sugar Pills Posted: 02-12-04 16:49pm
I started tri-cyclen a month ago and i'm
on my 5th day of the sugar pill. I wanted
to start the new pack today and skip the
last 2 sugar pills. Would this end my
period? Is it a bad idea? I would start
on thursday instead of sunday so then my
period would start on a different day
which I want.

Ive been told when you are supposed to
start your first sugar pill you instead
you can take the first white pill. That
will make your period go away.

Sara is right, when u go to start the
sugar pills instead take the first hormone
pill (woteva the colour) and this stops ur
period but there r a few things to
remember when doing this
1 - u can only do this every second month
2 - u cannot under any circumstances miss
a pill if u do ur period is more than
likely to come and throw ur cycle
completely out so much so that u will have
to stop taking the pill until ur next
cycle.

I found it didn't stop my period.. Just
got me off schedule. As for starting it
early to adjust your period, it does work.
It will not stop your period early, but
your next period will be adjusted based on
when you start the next pack.

Every post above is right. I just want
to say, either skip it or don't. Do not
take a couple of sugar pills and then
decide to start your new pack. It will
just mess up your cycle. If you want to
skip your period, just do what the above
posts said, but do it right away, not a
couple days after the blank pills. This
works for most people, but not for all.
I tried it and I still spotted and had
cramps. But you have to let yourself
have your period every three months.
Now, you do not have to take the last week
of pills at all in the "multi-colored"
pills. They are just empty anyway.
