been doing coke off and on for the past 6
years or so with the intention of quitting
for the last year. the best i,ve done is
about three months drug free. thought i
was doing good then screwed up and did it
again like the progress i made over those
three months meant nothing. how can i help
this from happening agian. i know i should
avoid those situations but sometimes they
are unavoidable. how can i remember to
beat the temptation.

Have you tried going to a social group
where everyone has been or going through
the same thing?? we have groups like
Addictions Anonymous and we also have
country wide numbers that you can call to
get advice on what you can do.
I congratulate you on quitting for the 3
months and wish you all the best in
combatting your addiction in the near
future!!

Pony… I’m with Auzzie on this one.
Going it alone is probably the toughest
way to go, and meets with the least amount
of success to boot.
Find someone else, trying to stay clean
just like you and support each other. That
is the smart thing to do.
One of the best places to find this person
is in a Cocaine Anonymous, or Narcotics
Anonymous meeting. Search the web for one
close by. They are not too hard to find.
The hard part is showing up at your first
meeting.
You are going to get a lot of resistance
to going to your first meeting. Resistance
from your friends who are still using.
Your recovery might put a crimp in their
situation. You are going to get the
biggest amount of resistance from your
self. I’m not that bad! These people
aren’t like me! They don’t understand
my situation! I am afraid they will judge
me! Someone might see me going in! You can
add to the list, more reasons for not
going Pony.
But the truth is, if something doesn’t
change in your life, you will keep getting
what you are getting now. And you
wouldn’t be here looking for a solution
if things now were still fun.
In order to get something different, we
have to do something different.
Your friend on this long strange road
trip
