Baby Shower
Posted: 03-06-07 23:18pm

Okay girlllllllllls,
I am having a baby shower in late .June and I guess it's an all girl thing? Well, my dad and my fiance are going fishing while everyone else is joining the baby shower. Is there any way I can convince .Nick to go to the baby shower? He says he won't go and I really want him to be there. He's being a butt!
.Also, I am 14 weeks pregnant today and I don't know if any of you other girls had this, but I have been having some weird discharge. It's kinda clear, not that goopy white crap. This is fine, right? And I have been breaking out lately also. Ugh, pregnancy is so stressful. I never really had bad acne until I got pregnant. Maybe it's just stress. ....?

haha I have the worst skin ive ever had in my life!! It sucks! On my back, chest, and face..it seems a little better now im 20 weeks but who knows it comes and goes.. Still waiting for that damn pregnancy glow..Or maybe i have too much of one and thats the problem lol.
As far as your man goes..Just tell him how important it is to you for him to be there..Be genuine and heartfelt and maybe if he sees how important it is to you?

He knows it's important to me. But he just thinks it's a girl thing. I still think it'll be a great experience for him also but o well. June is still a few more months away, I'm sure I can talk him into it. My mom thinks the guys should do their own thing but that just frickin angers me off! Evil or

The point of a baby shower is to celebrate the soon arrival of you and your bf's child. And the gifts that you will be receiving will be for the child not for you. And last time I checked you don't get pregnant alone. He is just as much a part of that child as you are, and he should be there to thank everyone for caring so much about *his* child. I find it rude for him to not be there. But that is just my opinion.

my boyfriend came to one of my baby showers. he came to the one that was thrown for the adults. i told him it was important that he be there because it was the first time my family met his family. but i would've wanted him there anyway. it felt appropriate for him to be there.

you'll have a lot more discharge your whole pregnancy. & .your skin will break out a lot too! it sucks, but it's all part of the joys of pregnancy.. lol.

i was just talking about this with my sister-in-law the other night. she went to a friend's baby shower and the father-to-be was there and we thought that was strange. between all the showers we've both been too we'd never been to one where the father stuck around.

mine was ladies only, my dad took my husband and a few other male relatives golfing. i thought it was a good bonding experience for them.

golfing? lol....I've never been to anything but the range! lol...and I suuuck! Baron's great at it though...he's like my own .happy .gilmore!

Anyways, I had an all lady baby shower. I didn't want one period, but I was told "you have too!!!!" so...I did! I don't think I even posted any pics of it!

Anyways, the discharge is normal. Aggravating, but normal. I suggest you get some panty liners, and begin to love them. If not, you'll have wet panties alll day! I used to be like Shocked , grab my crotch, and run to the bathroom! I'd say "i'm leaking!" lmao!!

It was horrible....b ut my skin, had never been better! I would literally *search* for something to mess with! lol...I like to lance things Twisted Evil

All will get better, except for the discharge!

I wouldnt' make him do anything he didn't want to do when it comes to stuff like that. It's petty in my eyes. Good you having a baby shower, but i think that they were invented by girls for girls. Mine and everyone i knew who had one, were kind of like tea parties. (not really so much) but i would have never made my husband come to it. It is a girly thing so don't make him if he isn't into it. quite frankly i would be worried if he did want to come to it. lol celebration or not....he can be thankful without being there.

As for the discharge...yeah its completely natural. if it starts to be discolored ie green or yellow and it starts to smell then you may have an infection of sorts. but until then, it's nothing....and believe me it will only get worse.

your skin will get bad too. mine did. i have perfect skin and it got all dry and cracked....and around the lips it was way off colored and flaky....it reminded me of having dried food around the corner of my mouth. yuck I hated it...it's allbetter now.

lmao, trevor (dh) and i just had this conversation a few weeks ago, his family is giving me a baby shower, at about 34 weeks (the saterday before easter) because thats when we both can go up there (they live in boston we live in norfolk va...ugh im dreading that drive so much though) and he says hes not gonna be there...i said so what your planning on just leaving me with all these random people? and he just shrugged and said yep...its just my friends and family...im going out with my brothers

which to be honest i dont mind, he doesnt see his brothers much (more then i get to see mine but i wont get into that) and at first i was ok with it because it was just his mum and sister in law and his "sister" and her mum (hes known her since she was 7 and now shes 15, she looks up to him so much) but now apparently from the part of the phone calls i can get its like gonna be a big thing and they are inviting his friends and his other reletives that ive never met and its just not good (i dont do well with people, especially if ive never met them before) i just hope my mum can come with to help out cause otherwise i might have an anxiety attack

guys are stubborn and they dont wanna do anything that may get them called a wimp or anything

about the discharge, like everyone else says its normal, man i feel like i got niagra falls down there half the time

and the skin, im still waiting on the glow thing too, i dont think its ever gonna come, my face cleared up some but its still pretty crappy bleh

My skin has kind of gotten a little yucky too. I have found something that works for me though, it's called TruePorfection skin refinining cleanser and you can get it through .A.V.O.N. It has been great. I still get a little breakout here and there, but not as bad as it was and it helps soak up the oil if you have really oily skin too.

About the baby shower, mine will be just for the ladies as well. My husband will be off with a few of his buddies, I'm sure. I just see baby showers as a thing for women to experience together and the birth be something that you experience with your husband/boyfriend. Just don't put a lot of pressure on him to be there, it may do more harm than good.
