i didnt have breathing problems but i did have a severe allergy attack where my throut nearly closed and i took my albuterol inhaler...but i dont know if thats safe during the first trimester, you need to discuss this with your doctor, especially if you have or think you have asthma, that can be very serious and even deadly if left untreated

Wow! I was just going to post a very similar question regarding use of Albuterol Inhaler. My darn asthma is acting up again and I am 20 weeks pregnant.

well, i've used my inhaler a couple of times. i was told that it is safe. and i looked it up online. albuterol inhalers fall under category A. i'm only 7-wk's pregnant, so i limited my use to as little as possible. i know any medication in the first trimester is dangerous in some way or another. but, i was told by my doctor albuterol inhalers are perfectly fine if used as prescribed.

Thanks. I didn't look it up but category A is wonderful! I had to use some tonight because I really couldn't breathe at all. I haven't had an asthma attack for a few years now. Sucks.

i used albuterol inhalor when i was pregnant with my son but i had a chest infection but i was around 17 weeks at the time. the dr said something about my oxygne levels being low and wheezing and he couldnt give me anything for the chest infection other then the inhalor wich helped. even in the 2nd trimester i tried to use it as little as possible.
