Can Low Impact Exercise Aggravate Annular Tear? Posted: 03-09-07 00:50am
263 lb 36 year old male, seeking to lose
weight after back injury. Currently using
elliptical machine, 30 minutes per day,
high cardio range, but low impact. Have
temporarily abandoned weight training.
Experiencing mild burning sensation and
ache in lower back hours after exercise,
and mild increase in associated leg
"tingles" (bilateral). Is this a warning
to decrease intensity and / or duration of
workout? Would very much prefer to
continue, but also very much want to avoid
aggravating condition. Exercise is
indicated for general therapy of back
injury, but is the burning sensation
normal?
Any advice or personal experiences would
be appreciated.
