Exhausted
Posted: 03-09-07 22:26pm

Hey guys, its been awhile since I wrote on here, or have had the need to look for answers. This last week, I have been so tired! All I want to do is sleep. I do have a lot on my plate right now with school, and other things. I have been having all kinds of panic attacks and crazy tension headaches. Together the tension headaches and fatigue make is so hard I can barely function, my eyes burn and feel like sand paper. Do other anxiety sufferers feel this way? blood tests and everything else are normal, so its not iron definitely or anything serious. Please Help!

Yes, as an anxiety sufferer myself, I have felt exactly the same way you are feeling now. Those are all just symptoms of anxiety.

First, I'm just wondering if you are getting enough rest - it's very important.

Second, you can help relax yourself with some natural supplements that reduce anxiety - some good ones to get are 5-HTP, L-theanine, and L-tyrosine.

Third, you need to acknowledge to yourself that you are tired BECAUSE of your ANXIETY and nothing else. That way you will know that you need to work on reducing your anxiety and you aren't panicking about what is currently happening to you (multiple symptoms).

Fourth, you need to practice slow, deep, and relaxed breathing. You need to take at least one proper deep breath a day (using the bottom of your abdomen, not your chest), and ideally you should take a deep breath each time you feel you are stressing out. You need to practice such deep and relaxed breathing on a regular basis.

Last, you need to be more social and talk more to your family and friends. Those are some of the best ways of helping you relax and reduce anxiety. Try not to engage in intense social situations - if you find yourself stressing out and panicking in a social situation, excuse yourself out of it and go for a short walk.

I hope those little points will help you.

You may want to try a glucose tolerance test.

Anxiety And Panic

I agree that anxiety and panic are probably simply higher as a result of stress in your life. Try meditation to relax yourself in the morning. Set aside at least 15-30 minutes a day for just you and sit and relax. While relaxing try to keep your mind free and clear of all the thoughts that are in there. It is really difficult so don't expect to quiet your mind in a day or even years, but you can make it less noisy and learn to dismiss thoughts quicker so they don't have that run-away effect that leads to anxiety. If you want some instruction on how to meditate check out www.buddhanet.net There is a ton if info on meditation as well as mindfulness, both of which would help you greatly.

Take care,
OE
