Please Help Me, Is This Possible Hiv Infection
Posted: 03-10-07 11:20am

Help me please, I am at my wits end. Please if there is a person who has experience in this or a doc please, please help me! I am worry all the time it is hard to sleep, eat or function. It is a very long story but I will give you the short version. Last July 06 after three encounters with three separate girls 1 in February 06 (a Asian girl) 1 in April 06, and 1 in June 06,; I started having, muscle pains, white tongue, aching lymph nodes , chronic ear ache, burning or searing feeling in the throat(feel like a sore throat but doc says I have no sore throat) no fever, no diarrhea.

I went to the doctor, who said not to worry. I did worry so I went and got tested using the standard elisa test at 3 weeks from the last possible exposure to HIV, it was negative. Knowing I was still in the window period I tried to wait but could not. I paid to have a PCR Qualified DNA done at 58 days, from the last exposure the site said the result was conclusive, which was also negative.

After talking to the CDC whom told me such tests are not an approved diagnostic for determining your HIV status; I waited until 13 weeks and tested again using the Oral Quick Rapid test, approved by the CDC, it was negative. I was relieved but my symptoms persisted.

I started going to see a shrink who says I am OCD about the whole thing. I think I have reason to worry. I waited until 23 weeks, counting very day, trying to be positive about the whole deal. Using the same test, “Oral Quick”, the rest was negative. But this time the clinic used the swab method, I was unsure of the results. Yet, held my self together until I was 7 months (Jan 07) from the last possible exposure. I tested at the Laguna Beach clinic using both the Elisa test and the Oral Quick finger prick method, both came back negative. GREAT! I am done! I am done!

Most of the symptom have subsided, I still have a sore throat feeling, fungi “what ever” on my groin area, feels like a rash but no visible sign of one. My skin burns in small spots, my forearms, face, my legs and arms muscles ache all the time, red little bumps on my chest, and a white tongue from time to time. I had a fever last week for three days, never before had that!

I tested again at 8 months March 07 using oral quick, negative! Now today I have a rash all over my chest and stomach. Like I said I had a fever on Monday and this rash on Weds- Thursday, still have sore throat, and aching muscles.

My question is, WHAT IS THIS? Is it possible that I have been exposed to a sub-type of HIV that is not picked up with the standard antibody tests? Do the tests today pick all sub-types? Some HIV website say not all subtypes are picked up. The CDC was vague at best when I asked them. The clinic that gave me the PCR test way back in August 22,06 says that test would have picked up the HIV virus replication if I had HIV not matter what types it was. Is this true?

I really need some relief from this, I can not live like this. I have never been sick before and now I feel like poop all the time. Please help me! PLEASE!

You do sound OCD. Maybe you should post under the Anxiety forum? Just a thought..be glad you don't have HIV/AIDS, it isn't a walk in the park....
