Too Much?
Posted: 03-10-07 13:53pm

I am wondering if it's possible for my daughter to have too much fruit. She likes it so well that I have to keep it out of site until she eats something else, like this morning she had eggs. She ate a little of that, then she just sat there like she was done. I washed up some raspberries for her and she ate them as if she was starved. We opened a container last night, and she ate 1/2 of it (they are 1/2 pint containers) for her snack. Then she finished it this morning at breakfast. But she seems to only want fruit. We only buy fresh fruit, except for some frozen mangoes. She doesn't drink juice, she acts like she doesn't like it. But when it comes to fruit, she eats it all. We haven't found a fruit she won't eat. She eats veggies sometimes, but I don't think she gets enough. Any ideas? I don't want her to feel hungry, that's why I always give in and give her fruit after I attempt to feed her a regular meal.
But is it possible for her to have too much fruit?

a lot of fruit can sometime scause diarrhea... its also not good because fruits are loaded with natural sugars and that can lead to childhood diabetes.

Limit her to maybe 2 servings a day.

hope i helped ^_^

Her bowel movements haven't ever been loose...so far. And what about things like avacado? I know they have loads of good vitamins, and she loves those. They are high in calorie too, but she's a growing child and very active, so I'm not too concerned there.
And yes, replies do help. Thanks

yeah, i'd still limit her. Everything in moderation.

And avacados are good fats not bad fats.

Adrianna is such a beautiful baba! I wanna see more pics of her!

Thank you .gen!!
Yeah, I'm gonna go ahead n' let her eat fruit. I'll just cut back a bit. She loves salad! We had a yummy chef salad tonight at my parents house.
I'd much rather her eat fruit than junk food.

Hey! I see nothing wrong with her eating alot of fruit, it could be worse and she not eat anything other than icecream, chips and chocolate!!

Its also great that its fresh! You are trying to feed her other things as well so I see nothing wrong with it.

Good healthy girl!!

Alyvia likes grapes. I'll put a piece of grape in her mouth, holding onto the skin, and she'll gum the meat off the skin. She makes her yummy noises when she does it! I'm too paranoid to give her the skin, though - .i'm scared she'll choke.

I've been craving fruit like a mofo lately! I had a .fruit & .walnut salad from .mc.d's yesterday. Mmm! Laughing

yay for .adriana for being a fruit lover!

.Oo.O, .Adriana loves grapes. I cut the grapes up in about 12 pieces. I halve it, then halve it again, then cut it in 3....if that makes sense. Adriana eats the skin now. Have you tried to peel a grape? LOL. She likes to make her mama work Smile
