A newborn can
have as many as eight to ten bowel
movements a day, or as few as just one.
Even going one day without a bowel
movement is usually no reason to worry,
unless she is uncomfortable or has a
persistently swollen abdomen. Since
changing diapers is probably one of your
most frequent activities these days
(second only to feeding), here are some
tips:
*To help deodorize the diaper pail, throw
in a scented dryer sheet or two.
*Create little mini-changing stations at
several locations around your house so you
don't have to run to the nursery for a
quick change. Stock each station with a
few diapers, wipes, a changing pad, and a
few toys.
*Keep the items in a basket that can be
stored under a table or bed.
*Keep several diaper bags packed and ready
to go with the basic necessities. This
will save you from tracking down lotions,
wipes, and diapers when you're trying to
get out the
door.

.Those things are all so helpful! I wish I
would have known some of these things when
.Kaylee was still little (my god she's
getting big )..
The last one I would definately
recommend.. It's so nice if we have to
pick up & go somewhere quick. I
already have diapers, wipes, butt cream
& a pair of pj's in the diaper bag so
all I have to get ready is her bottles
& of course her lol.. It saves me
about 10 minutes!
i have 2 seperate diaper bags, one
includes clothing and a lil entree for
joseph , its more for overnights or long
outings thenone with just the diapers
wipes, cream and bottles and formula for
like a quick outing to the store where
iwill be gone 2 hrs tops. i also have a
diaper bag in my car with extra clothes
just in case and a few diapers, we found
that out the hard way with my friend she
didnt bring any at all, and her daughter
threw up all over herself when we were
driving to vilsek so she had to go most of
hte ride there in a diaper and covered in
blankets, she bought an outfit when we got
there while i sat out in the car and
waited , woulda been easier if she had
clothes in the car already lol. but she
knows now for next time

thank god finn was never one of those
babies who poops 10 times a day! he's
always been my regular 1 time a day guy.
i always have the diaper bag stocked and
hanging by the door, all i usually have to
do is put some bottles with the proper
amount of water in them in the bag and
we're out the door.
those are helpful tips, though i'm always
annoyed by people who have "diaper
stations" in every room. maybe if you live
in a massive house you should have one
upstairs and downstairs, but what's so
hard about taking the baby to the changing
table in his room or the bathroom (or
wherever you do your changes)? i don't pee
in the kitchen sink because that's where i
happen to be when i have to go.

.Never thought of it that way! But I agree
with you. I always change .Kaylee on her
changing table. I don't like having
diapers & everything scattered across
the house so everything I need is right
next to her changing table!
haha thats true we dont, my house is
massive but the only time joseph was ever
changed upstairs was before and after
baths, i kept diapers in his closet, still
got a few, and wipes in the bathroom
upstairs, mostly i change the kids on teh
floor in the living room witha blanket
down, i never had a baby changing table, i
think its a waste of money specially when
they start moving about alot, the floor,
bed , couch is alot easier.
but my suggestion is this
keep at least 3 outfits for your child in
your car at all times, they do come in
handy. joseph has done massive spit up
episodes in the car on the causeway in
fla, of course when i didnt bring clothes
with me. and no where to stop for a few
miles, so he ended up in a diaper till we
got home. luckily it was summer.
also a roll of papertowels in there at all
times, they come in handy too lol. so eh
well i guess an extra diaper bag in the
car full of the essentials.

Starting today, I'm keeping an extra
diaper bag full of wipes, diapers,
clothes, blankets, binkys, water & a
can of formula.. Everything, in my car..
Never know when somethings gonna happen
like .Diane said. The one burner on our
stove caught on fire yesterday when .Shane
was cooking so now .I'm so paranoid that
this place is gonna catch on fire. I can't
imagine having to leave real quick &
not having any food or anything in the car
for .Kaylee..
