Objects Moving to Fast And Noise to Loud Posted: 03-12-07 11:45am
My son (7yr) for the past 4 days at around
8p-8:30p runs to the bed to lay down and
covers his ears and wants me to turn off
the light and tv. he says that if he goes
to sleep it will go away. what? he says
he hears us talking to loud and things are
moving to fast. I took him to the ER and
blood test was normal. a night before i
took him to the night clinic and the PA
said he looked fine and wanted to refer
him to a Neuorologist to make sure its not
seizures he is getting. he had congestion
for 1week and just started with fever
101-103 last night and vomiting.
question: what can it be and why does he
say he sees thing moving fast and hears us
talking to loud?
thank you,
Genie

a referral to the neurologist is an
excellent idea. i have fainting spells
and went to the doctor to get checked out.
i don't have seizures but an abnormality
with my nervous system (my dad also
suffers from this). what your son may be
experiencing is the onset of a dizzy
spell. i also hear loud noises,
experience disorientation, difficulty
breathing and tingling in my arms and
legs. by lying down and elevating my feet
it passes on its own. this is not a
serious disorder but worth checking out;
thank you for not passing it off because
his experiences are very real and scary
when they occur.
