Is There An Answer?
Posted: 03-13-07 18:08pm

Hey

So i've had probs with eating since i started (unconsciously) overeating at 11 to deal with my mum's cancer. My highest weight ever was 190lbs and my lowest 85lbs and i'm 5'7" (173cm).

Last year i 'recovered' from anorexia and reachd wat i now see as the perfect weight/shape for me of 135lbs meaning i was a uk 10 (US 6) dress size. However i soon gaind loads of weight thru chew/spitting, binging and purging so i currently weigh around 180lbs.

I stopped my 'disordered' eating some months ago n now i eat 1400 - 1600 cals and do some form of exercise each day as advised by the dietician as any less wud resort in my body storing more fat because it fears another famine. The problem is i am still gaining weight.

I am so depressed rite now that i have actually thort of killing myself but i didn't want any1 2 hav 2 deal with it. I don't recognise myself anymore physically and emotionally and i need to know how i can stop gaining and start losing again.

I am aware that anorexia has slowd my metabolism but surely there's a way to lose weight agen - i don't want 2 b anorexic agen just a uk size 10 or even a 12 (i think the US equivalent is eight) agen.

Please somebody tell me things will happen b4 i do somethin stupid.

sorry for the long post n thanks 4 reading if u stuck with it

Well, there can be answers, but now you should think about yourself and the present day, not in what happened. If you feel better, don't think at all. I'm sure you can find a way out of this. Really! What about hobbies? Smile

Thankyou so much for all your posts/help

I am still seeing a dietician and follow all her advice exactly but i'm still gaining weight.

I'm in my first year of uni studying english lit so i spend a lot of time reading but i can't seem 2 stop these thoughts goin around in my head. As long as i am the size i am then the thoughts will continue - it's like anorexia again, i spend most of the time thinkin about my body and how fat i am, exept now there IS evidence there 2 support these thoughts.

I'm looking in2 acupunture and considering takin supplements like kelp and chromium 2 see if they do anything - do you think it's worth it?

Thank you again

Hi :*
Well, if you're seeing a doctor, it's better for you to tell him\her what you're feeling and thinking, right? Maybe that plan isn't the best for you and he\she has to rearrange it. Smile
