#1 is pronounced mad-ah-line (rhymes with
pine or fine).
the rest are mad-ah-linn (rhymes with tin
or bin).
i prefer the first one but i have a
feeling you're going for mad-ah-linn, so i
would go with #3.

Oh Really? I thought Madeline was
pronounced Ma-da-lin also.
Can someone verify that?

Madeline is pronounced mah-de-line (rhymes
with twine, whine, fine)
.madelyn (and the others) is pronounced
mah-duh-len (rhymes with fin, twin, grin)
the "e" on the end gives it a long "i"
sound. Drop the e, and it gives it the
short "i" sound, like in bin or tin.
There's actually a cartoon about a girl
called .madeline. I think it's about a
little french orphan.
According to the names websites, Madeline
is pronounced Ma-de-Lin.
I like Ma-de-lin more than Ma-de-line.
But now I worry that if I name her
Madeline, people are going to start
pronouncing it Ma-de-line and that would
frustrate me. But then again, I like this
spelling more than the -lyn spelling...
Gosh. Now I'm stuck.

this is the cartoon I was talking about.
It's definitely .mah-de-line. At least
that's how they pronounce it in .france,
and I believe it is a french name.
Name her whatever you like, hon. Some
people might mispronounce it anyway, but
there's not much you can do about that.

I like #3.
Madaline is a nice spelling, but they are
correct, someone will pronounce it wrong.

madeline can be pronounced either way. but
i think most everyone (at least in the
.u.s, i am guessing) would think it was
.mad-uh-line. i like it better than
.madilyn, though.
