I Need Someone Who Can Give Me Some Answers...please... Posted: 03-15-07 23:02pm
So, about a year ago, I was in the
hospital for some VERY serious things, and
I had multiple blood transfusions, and I
had Plasma aphersis everyday for over 30
days, well today I went to my Hemotologist
who recieved a letter from the Red Cross
saying that one of the batches of Plasma I
recieved came back indetermanate for HIV.
Now I don't know where to start. Does
anyone know how the red cross does there
testing? Because I'm wondering how almost
a year later a test comes back saying
that. Don't they test before, Or do they
keep a tube or two of everything they give
out and continuing retesting? After
everything I have been through the
possibility of this is almost too much to
handle and I would really appreciate some
help
I'm sorry I'm a crappy speller

Yeah, that does seem strange. We have
known about HIV for years and have had the
ability to test for it for years. I have
always heard that if you got blood after
the late 90's, then you would not have to
worry about it. I would ask your doctor
about it or maybe call someone from the
Red Cross if possible.
