was told i have a bile collection in
abdomen after gallbladder
surgery,consultant reluctant to drain
it.tried pain meds, either dont work or get
side effects.in a lot of pain and dont no
what to do,any advice
The presence of bile in the peritoneal
cavity causes chemical peritonitis
(inflammation of the peritoneum). The
peritoneum is a serous covering of the
abdominal organs. Bile-causing chemical
peritonitis is sterile, which means that
the condition is present without bacterial
infection. You don’t need drainage
because the condition will pass in time.
