I am a mother of two and I had transient
ischemic attack last month. Because of
financial difficulty I had to go look for
work, unfortunately the work that I've got
is for night shift from 10 pm to 6 am. I
find it very hard to sleep during day time
but I'll try my best. My relatives told me
that I shouldn't be working that time
because it is bad for me and that I would
be more prone to another attack. They
advise me to just wait and look for
another job that is on normal hours.
Please advise me on what to do, I've got
work tonight, I need an income but at the
same time I don't want something bad to
happen to me, I don't want to leave my
family. Thank you for your time.
Transient ischemic attacks are caused by
thrombi that stick in some brain arteries
and cause temporary stop of the blood
flow. Blood has its own mechanisms
(fibrinolytic system) for dissolving the
sticked thrombus. Thrombi are usually
created on some atherosclerotic plague
placed in the carotid arteries. Irregular
heart rhythm can also cause creation of
thrombi in the left heart chamber that
flows up to the brain.
Type of work do not have influence on
thrombi creation.
Do you have some heart arrhytmia?
Have you ever made carotid arteriography
or carotid doppler examination?

Sounds like you are between a rock and a
hard place. How are you doing now? Find
all that you can about stroke and stress
reduction. There is alot of hype out
there - but I have found that if you keep
looking, you will find things that make
sense...
