Carol: I wish I would have found you
sooner!!! I ended up getting all but $200
covered under my medical reimbursement
plan thru work. I gave up on
Empire....they were supposed to send me
forms, never did. I got sick of chasing
them...so I took what I could get. The
extra $200 would have paid for like a
month's worth of gas around here!!!!
Thanks for the info though.

Dyan,
I live north of Detroit in Flint (Michael
Moore's famous dying city). I don't think
that matters but it matter what plan you
are on. I think I just have an old basic
BC/BS. I was rejected at first for both
bite splints I have had made but appealed
and won.
I did have to confer the first time with
my work's risk management head and she
really went to bat for me. The 2nd time,
the dentist had gotten the code incorrect
so that was corrected. If you try to get
the code out of Blue Cross, they won't
give it to you. The dentist or doctor has
to find it and there is both a dental and
a medical code right next to each other.
Forget dental.
Since I've been with my current TMJ, I've
not had too much out-of-pocket expense,
but I also haven't done much more than
bite splints and injections in the joint.
BC covered it all, thank God!!
Dyan, I will be praying for you. The date
is coming up fast.
Pam, take care of yourself. You really
bring sunshine to ehealthforum. Thanks.
God bless all...
Carol

Hey Posted: 04-01-07 15:25pm
we did---we had the besst plan available
and they cut me off. after they covered
one splint--when it didnt work they said
they wouldnt pay for anything . Ive
searched all blue cross plans and no
matter what the premium or deducatble is
they wont cover it they exclude it. I have
all the right codes. docs even had a
meeting and they still refused. they hate
me and the feeling is mutual.

Dyan, how did your surgery go? Did it
actually help? My TMD is beginning to
interfere with my eating.
