I Think I May Be...
Posted: 03-21-07 01:16am

Alright, to give you an idea: I am 17 years old, and prone to extremely irregular periods. Starting in May of 2006, I was put on OTC-Lo. Due to breakthrough bleeding, it was changed to regular Ortho Tri-Cyclen in January of 2007. I take the pills at the same time every day, and have not missed a dose.

I am a Sunday starter, and I still have not gotten my period -- it's Wednesday now. Because of sensitivity to latex, my boyfriend and I use the withdrawal method in addition to the pill, and we've never had any problems. We only see each other once a week at most, so the number of times we actually have sex is very low. Still, it doesn't quell this fear in my heart that something may be wrong...

I have had to urinate extremely frequently (though very little has been coming out; it may very well just be a UTI), and I have yet to get my period. Any advice would be appreciated.

If this turns out to be nothing, I'll be sure to post ASAP. Thanks in advance.

What day of the week do your periods normally start when using Ortho lo? I know you've only had 2 so far, right? I personally don't start until wednesday evening when I'm sunday starting.

They jump around. Back when I was taking lo, it would start any time from about four hours after I took the first inactive, to Tuesday evening. Now I'm on the regular ortho, and I've only had one pack...last time, it started on Tuesday.

Well then I wouldn't worry just yet. As I said, mine normally start wednesday evenings.
