I'm So Scared...

I'm sure most of you hate needles but i'm
a total needle phobic! My ob has been
telling me to go to the hospital to have
the rutine blood work done since december
and i'm just so scared to go. I've
convinced myself that i'm going this
friday after my ultrasound and i'm shaking
just thinking of it! I dont know what to
do!

Bless ur heart im sure everything is going
to be ok. I dont like them either but u
know sometimes its just got to be done.Im
sorry you have to do this.Just when they
are taking the blood close your eyes and
think of your baby! Hope that will
help!

I am totally fine with having my blood
drawn! I have never been like that!
Dunno why... I told the nurse last time
when she was going to prick my finger for
my hemoglobin ..I said " is there anyway u
can take my blood instead of pricking me?"
I hate(caps) gettin my finger pricked and
would rather have blood drawn! Lol, im a
weirdo I guess....

I hate needles also, but you can take my
blood. Just don't tell me I gotta take a
shot! Shots are a killa!!!!!!! Girl,
calm down. Take deep breaths and go do
that blood work. You have to, to make
sure everyhting is ok with the baby!

I hate getting needles I freak out!!! My
cat bit my hand and you could see the bone
so I had to go to the hosptial and get iv
I was freaking out they had to get the
docters to get me out of the car. If I
didnt get the iv I could of had my hand
cut off!!!!!!!! But it is weird I love
piercings I have no idea why....Im just
really werid about that stuff!!!

I went into premature labor with the twins
and I had to have 5 nurses hold me down to
get a shot! I said I would have the early
I just didnt want a shot!

I know how you feel I have blood took
every month because of my thirod problem
and I am on meds so they got to watch it.
I ask them to use what is called a
butterfly needle its real small and it
looks like a butterfly it looks like it
has wings lol also there is a line hooked
to it so it makes it alot easier and I
have bad veins they like 2 roll and
collapse. So you will be ok just ask them
for that needle and do look at them when
they do it look to the side and count
backwards from 10 that helps me
but you need to go get this done think its
for your baby

Yes whenever I have bloodwork done they
use that same small needle. Alot of
times they use the same needle on me as
they use for small children to infants.
It dosent hurt quite as much. Just
remember to look away and think of
something pleasant like your children or
your new baby. Close your
eyes....Pretend like your in labor..Lol im
sure it wont seem bad then!

I loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeee shots but when it
comes to gettin blood taken- unt uh
hunny...Lol...I seriously am dehydrated
like everytime almost and they cant get
blood and I sweat, and feel
pass-outyish...It sucks so bad....So last
time it took 12 pricks to even get blood
to go in the tube!

I either throw up & pass out or just
throw up and have to lay down everytime!!
I started bawling at wic when they had to
poke my finger! The lady felt so bad!

Awe hunni just keep thinking its for the
babies sake and you will do just fine,
just ask them to use a butterfly needle..I
hate needles to belive me..And just do not

room I couldnt watch, larry was there, I
didnt leave him alone!!

getting blood drawn and having shots.....I
always watch......I think it is
awesome.....Lol. I always wanna watch
when they do it to other people too.....I
dunno. I'm crazy. I told yall I was
nutso. As soon as the doctor told em I
needed blood drawn, I went that day!!!

The smaller needle (butterfly) may help
with bruising. I also bruise alot when I
get blood drawn. Like I said before I
have small veins and they always have
probs finding them and I always get hurt
so bad! But yes when I was preggy they
used the lil needle and everything went
soo smoothly. And I didn't quite bruise
as much. Alot of it too depends on the
tech/nurse taking blood. There is one
lady I see who never leaves a bruise on me
and it never hurts....But others seem to
mutilate my arm!

One time this student had to take my mom's
blood and she went through her vein and my
mom bled everywhere! She had a bruise
that went from the bottom of her hand all
the way to the top and where ever else the
vein was at she bruised!
