I think I'm not ovulating this cycle. I
was under a ton of stress for the first
week and thought that I was going to
ovulate early, but the fertility signs
were not consistent. I'd have wet cm one
day and dry the next. I did have some
ewcm but only noticed it once. I took opk
for seven straight days (after starting
late) and never got my happy face. I gave
up taking the test on Thursday morning to
save the rest for next month and because I
was almost in tears Wednesday when I
didn't get a positive.
I've still been taking my temp and
charting. I had a temp spike last Sunday
when I slept in over two hours. That was
only a one-day spike. I also had a slight
temp increase Wednesay that has persisted
through today, but the temp is a lot lower
than my typical post-o temps. It is
almost as if it is more of an absence of
estrogen than an increase in progesterone.
Never the less, ff has given me only a
possible o date of Tuesday, which was cd
14. Today would be 4 dpo, but I really
don't think I ovulated.
It is probably too late now this month for
me to ovulate. I never have cycles longer
than 29 days.
I blame stress, diet, and exercise. When
I was under so much stress, I didn't eat
very well and I wasn't exercising. I've
been glucose intolerant in the past and I
fear that I may be slipping back into it.
I read that insolin levels affect
ovulation, so not having control over
sugar could be bad for ovulation. I also
wonder if it my body still adjusting to
having aboslutely no caffeine.
At least I have a doctor's appt coming up
next month. I suppose if I'm going to not
ovulate, doing it right before a doctor's
appt is the best time. If I get af on cd
28, my appt will be just at the start of
the fertile period.
Sorry for writing so much. I haven't been
on the internet much at home and am still
getting caught up on all the posts in the
last week.

I'm sorry that you had such a rough week.
I hope this week is better for you. Try to
take it easy this weekend and relax and
watch some tv or read a good book.
Is your doctors appt with a regular doctor
or a fertility specialist?

Sometimes when I was using the opk, I
would think that I wasn't ovulating. It
never really got really darker than the
test line, but I could tell when I was
o'ing with the ewcm and the light line on
the opk. I didn't test this month as this
was the last time we could try for 3
months. Hubby is having a hard time with
this condom thing!!!! He
doesn't think he can make it a whole three
months. lol. We have never used them, so
it is just taking him some time to get
used to the idea.
Hopefully you will have a better week next
week. Try to reduce your stress. Take a
long bubble bath with candles. That
always does the trick for me. I started a
new diet this week and it is harder than I
thought. I have no problem with breakfast
and lunch, but by the time dinner comes
around, I want to eat the house down...
I hope you are feeling back to your old
self soon.

mc - Thank you. I'm going to my ob/gyn
for an annual. She said that she would
give me a referral to a fertility
specialist if I wasn't pregnant. I'm not
sure how long it will take before I get to
see the specialist, but the referral is a
start.
star - I'm using the clear blue easy
digital opk. It gives either a happy face
or no happy face. I didn't get any happy
faces. Usually, my cm is pretty good too,
but not this month.
What diet are you trying? I'm usually not
very good with diets. I can't stock to
anything but moderation and exercise, with
exercise being the leader.

Thank you negar.
I'm going to do some gardening today to
take advantage of a nice spring day and to
get my mind off of ttc.

I am on my first week of the nutrisystem
diet. The food isn't that bad so far, but
I can see myself getting sick of it real
soon. If I do, then I am going to go to
weight watchers core diet. I have been
having trouble exercising because I am
getting sick again. I can't get rid of
this congestion in my chest. It makes my
stomach feel grose.

Well, I think it turns out that I did o
despite not getting a positive opk. For
the past few days, my temp has been
steadily increasing and is now well into
my normal post-o temps. My chart looks a
lot more like I o'd now. It just threw me
off and really frustrated me that I didn't
detect an LH surge.
I'm now obsessed with figuring out what
factors affect a failure to detect an LH
surge when ovulation occurs. I'll
definitely bring it up with my doctor.
Anyone else know what could cause a
negative test result?

I think it just really depends on the time
you are testing. The last positive that I
got, I tested at 6 p.m. and there was a
line but not dark enough to be positive.
Just for kicks, I did another test at 1130
p.m. and low and behold it was positive.
No where in the testing info does it
recommend testing that late at night. The
next cycle, I ovulated but never got a
positive OPK. I must have not tested at
the right time and I missed the surge. I
have heard that testing twice a day can
give you better results. Of course, that
costs a lot more too.

I started using the expensive ones last
month - the clear blue easy digital ones
with the for a positive.
They say that you can use them any time of
day. I prefer fmu because it is easiest
and because I had a hard time detecting
the lh surge later in the day using the
old brand.
It was weird - I'd get a positive in the
morning, a negative in the afternoon, and
then another positive in the next morning.
I drink a lot of water during the day and
to stop drinking water and not use the
restroom for hours before a test is
agonizing, especially when I get a
negative.
This month I used fmu only. I started
testing early because I started getting
the wet cm early, but my cm was
inconsistent and didn't give me a clear
indication of when I should start testing
twice a day. The inconsistent cm, the
negatives and the small temp increase had
me convinced that I didn't ovulate.

I know you said you were under some stress
and not eating right. I have heard that
things like that can cause you to skip
ovulation from time to time. Are you
comfortable posting a link to your chart
just so we can have a peak.
I think I may be having a cycle like you.
This one is my first on Clomid but I got
sick last Friday and have been sick since.
Today is CD 20 and no O yet. They say
illness can delay or cause annovulation
also.

I hope you ovulate soon. I now believe
that it is more stressful to await a late
ovulation than to await af.
My temps on the last few days dropped to
my af levels. I'm not optimistic but
wishful.
We found out that some of our good friends
are expecting a baby. They've been trying
for about a year, so that is good news. I
wish we were expecting, too, so I'm a bit
envious. But I'm happy for them.

Your chart looks good. I'm keeping my
fingers crossed for you.
Just to update you on the OPKs, last night
I did one at 7 and it was negative. It
was almost positive but not quite. I did
another one at 11 and it was positive.

Thank you. I'm starting to get cramps
now, but I don't have any other PMS
symptoms.
I can feel your frustration. Do you know
how much water you drink (in case water
dilutes the concentration) or how long it
has been since your last trop to the RR?
I have the kind of mind where I want to
experiment to see what works for me, but
the opportunities are few and far between.

& your temp still seems to be rising,

Wishing you all the happiness in the
world. Hope its you BFP this time.
Tons of baby dust & sticky vibes.

I had a temp drop this morning, but af hasn't
shown up yet. I think it is a bad sign if
the temp drops on 13 dpo.
I had pretty bad cramps today, but my bb's
are not very swollen.
I am 13 dpo and af is due tomorrow, so
we'll see how tonight and tomorrow go.
With the temp drop, I'm pretty sure she'll
show up soon.
My dr appt is next week so I have that to
look forward to. I've got some good
charts now to show her.
Have you heard of anyone using the
over-the-counter sperm checker? I noticed
it the last time I purchased an opk. I
read that the sperm test is the first one
the fertility specialist will do. I think
it will be impossible to get an appt with
a fertility specialist before I'm fertile
again. (My doctor told me that I'd get a
referral if I wasn't pregnant by next
week.) It might be hard to get the
appointment and test results on time for
next month, too. Do you know how well
they work? (this might be a good doctor
question.) Am I being too impatient?
Should I just wait to see the specialist?
We've been focussing mostly on me and what
I can do to improve our chances, but it
feels like it is time to focus on him
more. I feel guilty saying that because
it feels like I'm shirking responsibility
or something.

Shorty, sorry you had a temp drop. I
noticed that my bb's didn't get swollen at
all last month. That was the first time
in a long time that has happened.
Sometimes I get swollen right after
ovulation.

whoa girly, maybe you do need to just
relax a bit, you sound like you are very
anxious about all this. I think it's
great you are going to a specialist, but
try to just relax. If you can't get in
right away, then so be it. Gives you more
time to relax. You know what they say
about stress, it can keep you from
conceiving.

I wouldn't feel guilty about that. I
recently had a talk with dh and addressed
the fact that it might just be him and not
me that has the problem. I got him to
agree to start paying attention to his
health for the next three months while I
have to wait to ttc. He said he would.
We both smoke, and I am trying my hardest
to quit, right now I'm down to 2 or so a
day. He is trying to quit as well, but
not doing as well as I am. he also agreed
to cut back on the drinking. He doesn't
drink a lot, but he does drink after work
and on the weekends. He also agreed to
start taking a multi vitamin. That is
going ok - when he remembers to take it.
I am constantly putting out a vitamin on
his dresser so he remembers to take it.
