Another Breastfeeding Question Posted: 03-24-07 19:29pm
I know some of you are experts in the
breastfeeding arena. It's been 16 years
since I did this, so please be kind. I
also apologize in advance if this post
repeats other posts.
How long does it take before your milk
came in? .Jaylon is 3 days old and I'm
producing some, but let me tell you my
left boob is so painful. When he latches
on I could cry. I'm also afraid that he
isn't getting enough. The poor baby will
nurse and nurse and nurse and appear to be
done and then scream in 25 minutes for
more.
Can you remind me what it feels like when
you let down?
Any other tips of the trade or advice
would be great. I am so pro breast
feeding, and I want to do it correctly and
the best way possible for him.

its sounds like this is normal.. i didnt
fully produce milk content untill 4 days
after he was born.. and he felt the need
to nurse quite often.. im not sure early
on when your let down is because i didnt
start to feel this let down feeling untill
he was 4 weeks old.. but i was producing
huge quanities of milk... so i was
leaking! but if things dont pick up
withing a few days contact a lactation
specialist.. i had to since he tore are my
breast and i need a nipple sheild for a
few days!
