Stress And the Jaw
Posted: 03-25-07 00:14am

Here lately I have been noticed I have been clenching my teeth alot lately, and my temples hurt, and there is a pressure around my eyes, and on my nose.. Sometimes like if I start to laugh or smile, my jaw will stop for just a second with this numb feeling and just be back to normal in a second
does this happen to anyone

Clenched Jaw

Many people deal with stress by grinding their teeth or clenching their jaw. It is a really good sign of stress and anxiety. The best you can do is make a conscious effort to realize when you are doing this and take time to relax afterwards. Meditation in the morning helps me start the day with a relaxing 15-30 minutes. I used to clentch my jaw even while sleeping and would have massive headaches as a result. Meditation and mindfulness helped a lot.
