the Silent Scream Posted: 03-25-07 14:55pm
Has anyone else here seen this film? I've
just made myself watch it because I have
heard mention of it many times and I want
to inform myself as best I can.
Here is a link if anyone wants to view it
(use caution if you are of a sensitive
nature)
I personally found it hard to see what was
being indicated by the presenter at times
because the camera would move away from
the screen which was irritating. Also,
the picture quality isn't great and I
noticed that the language was very biased
towards the pro-life stance.
What are other people's thoughts on this
film? Is it informative? Is it shocking?

I watched it was well, a while ago. It is
informative if you can ignore all of the
slandering and the lies. I personally
didn't find it any more shocking that
watching any other operation on tv. Also,
you have to sit through a lot of video to
even get to the abortion.

I am not bothered by seeing what exactly
abortion is.
I am saddened that abortion is the best
choice for many women.
I know I say this over and over and over
again, but we need to address the reasons
women have abortions before we can
effectively make a change. Showing videos
of what happens may change minds of some
women, but it's not going to change their
circumstances; and ultimately that
is what is in their, and their child's
best interests.

Bravo! I heartily agree.
To create a crazy comparison...
People get angry and upset when wolves
came out of the mountains and killed their
livestock. But the wolves were coming out
of the mountais because their habitat and
food source was being destroyed. It wasn't
the wolf's fault completely; they were
simply making the best choices they could
in order to survive. The best solution in
that case is not to hate the wolf, but to
instead, go into the mountains and help
restore the wolve's natural territory and
food source.
Of course, humans, being the idiots,
decided to hate the wolves instead, and
killed them all. Now they have to deal
with the deer population, which has become
almost an infestation.
The wolves, if you can't tell, represent
women who have abortions. They are not
evil; they are simply doing what they have
to do to survive. They are strong,
powerful people. Pro-lifers are the people
who just want to kill and blame the wolves
and call them evil for killing livestock
(the fetuses). Pro-choicers are the ones
who know the wolves aren't evil, and who
are pushing the hardest for the wolf's
naural habitat to be returned: aka,
searching for better birth control
education, availability and effectiveness.
Some pro-lifers also want to give the
wolves back their territory, but at the
root of things, they still think the
wolves (the women who abort) are evil.
Oh, and the out of control deer population
represents all the babies in the adoption
system and all of the generations of
families that live off of welfare, unale
to advance.

I saw it though it's been
a good while for me.
It's interesting to watch for what it is
and that is modern day propaganda. To
watch it for anything else, medical
knowledge or to even see an abortion
performed, would be a great mistake. The
medical information has long since been
disputed and if memory serves me correctly
the vast majority of the film is of a
prenatal operation to repair a genetic
defect. Footage of this simple operation
was attached to other footage and made to
look like an abortion.
But, does it serve any other purpose? And
if it does, what impact does it truly
have? These are the important questions
for that particular film, at least for me.
For propaganda purposes and with an
audience who has had neither training or
the pertinent information at hand, it can
be quite useful.

I've seen it before but just clicked on
the link - that guy is annoying isn't he!
My abortion was a week before the one they
claim to be showing and the scan look
remarkably different size wise (it's about
2 or so inches at that gestation).
Anyway, I am sure there are some people
who will watch it and cry or whatever but
it doesn't address the reality of any
circumstance in which a woman choses
abortion - as birch said it doesn't change
the circumstances of the woman.

I have seen the silent scream, and
hundreds of 'real life' aboritons as
well..
I SEE nothing wrong with aboriton being a
'best choice' for any woman, not all women
wish to ruin, chnage, or otherwise spend 9
months to just give a baby away.
I certainly am not goign to ruin my body
for anyone...
That sounds harsh, but adoption would
NEVER enter my thoughts about pregnancy,
nor would having a baby.

I have seen that video and close-up
abortion videos - in fact, my best friend
and I sat eating popcorn and criticizing
while we watched 'the silent scream'.
Color me sadistic, but I thought it was
pretty cool to watch that unwanted little
parasite get torn apart. Very fascinating
procedure. As far as the
heart-string-plucking value, I was
unphased by any of the videos I've seen.
