Sad hi! I have been trying to read up on my problem but no one seems to be like me!!

I am trying to put on weight but it is just no happening for me. When I try to read up on this all I seem to find is topics about people trying to lose weight! I am 5'3 and weigh only 6.5 stone. I would love to put on a couple of stone.

I am always eating so it is not that I dont eat. I eat quite healthily.

Can anyone help as this is really getting me down!!

Hey I know you probley get this alot but I wish I was you. I am also 6.5 stone but I am bulmic so it doesn't come so easy to me. Anyway when I read your post it kind of reminded me of my aunt who is so thin but eats so much the reason being is that she has an over active typhod(i think thats how you spell it) it means that her matbalolism works over time and so her body doesn't put on weight. You may have that but i'm sure there are other possblities so you could ask your doctor. I hope that helped a little, keep me posted if you find out what it is. Good luck Smile

An overactive thyroid can cause you not to gain weight as can alot of other things, like stress (this can cause you to burn calories) also irritable bowel syndrome & other simial things can cause you to not metabolise the nutrients etc in your food.

You need to get your thyroid checked also your serotonin levels (if these are high (i think that's right) it shows you're overstressed & your body hs stopped producing 5htp from tryptophan (you can buy 5htp - 50 mg pd to start). Dhea may also put on weight. You can look these things up on a search engine try tryptophan, 5htp, dhea & also try asking for causes of weight loss or conditions that prevent weight gain etc.

If oyu're not getting periods you should also have your hormone levels checked.
