I found out this morning that another kid in my school district has committed suicide. A junior at the other high school was found last .Sunday morning. He shot himself after getting into a fender-bender.
And then yesterday morning a junior at my high school was found. He hanged himself. I don't know why yet.
This is just unbelievable. Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. Why would you ever believe that you were better off dead? I just don't get it. Don't they understand how many people they've hurt.
Two seniors died last year. The first, .Lauren, died in a car accident at the beginning of the school year. The second, .Tom, committed suicide two days before graduation.
I just don't get it. This is one of the reasons .I'm still wary of becoming a teacher. How do you handle something this tragic for yourself and your students?

Those are just from the two years .I've been at the high school. And .Lauren wasn't suicide, just an awful car accident. I didn't make that clear.
I can think of another suicide three years ago, and another either the year before or two years before that.
We're an upper middle class school district, for god's sakes! Nothing is that bad to make you want to kill yourself. Seriously, .I hate this. I want to scream or something.

Edited because I can't quote. Derr.

very few people understand why people commit suicide. It takes alot to to do it so i personally never understand why people call it the easy way out. Suicde is a part of life, it has happened for years and years and isn't about to stop now. As for you wanting to know how to help people when you become a teacher, just make sure they feel as though they can trust you and want to talk to you, it's the only thing you can do really, if somebody is going to commit suicide then they will do it

Death was prevalent when I was in high school. A very good friend of mine John died in a drive by in sept. then a friend of mine Brittany was murdered by her boyfriend when she tried to break up with him in oct. Then my boyfriend Bryan died on (was found on) Nov 5th (the day before his 16th birthday). This is something that I cry about 3-5 times a week to this day. That was just my freshman year. There was about 3-5 deaths a year of friends over the course of my high school. Of course that probably had something to do with the crowd I was hanging out with, but still.

Honestly, it doesn't get any easier. I'm sorry that you have to experience such difficult things. And if it does get easier for you you need to speak with a counselor.
