gabe is 9 days old...
i was wondering when you guys took your
babies outside or out in public? it's sooo
nice out- in the 70s! & i sort of want
to take a walk, but i don't know if it's
too early to take him outside or
something? & .also, i think i have to
run to .target later, too & nobody is
going to home all day, so i would have to
bring him with.. but if it's too early i
don't want to take him out!
opinions, experiences?

i think it would be fine to take him out
on a walk. they say to dress newborns in
one more layer than you're comfortable in,
so if you're putting him in his stroller
he should be fine with a blanket. the
fresh air will be good for him!
i also don't see a problem with taking him
to target. finn's first trip out was to
target, he was 3 weeks old. we probably
would've taken him out sooner but i was
recovering from my c-section and it was
november.
have fun!

as long as he isnt like in a public mall
with *tons* of people and touching dirry
things with germs, i think its fine. i
would wait on the really crowded places
until he is closer to 6 weeks..

Jenny's first lil trip out was when she
was a week old.. me, her and .Jonny went
for a nice walk coz I live in the
countryside and even though it was
.November the weather was really nice. I
couldn't walk too far though coz after a
while my stitches started hurting. But as
long as you're comfortable, and .Gabe's
nice and warm it should be fine =)

Just a few tips before you take him out:
~make sure he's rested!
~make sure he's fed!
~make sure he's comfortable!
this sounds like common sense, I know. But
I screwed up so badly the first time we
took .alyvia out. By the time .i'd packed
her diaper bag, found my gift card, gotten
her dressed, etc... she was tired, getting
hungry, and .h.o.t. We didn't leave the
house until like 3pm or something, and it
was .august in .louisiana needless to say, we
never made that mistake again. She
screamed the whole time.
Oh, and...
~don't let strangers touch his skin.
They'll probably want to, and they might
try. I personally didn't like people
getting close to .alyvia and breathing on
her, either.

.i don't like *anyone* getting too close
to .gabe except me & .chris! lol, the
first night he came home, my dad wanted to
hold him, so i was like "could you wash
your hands or use the hand sanitizer?"
& .he threw a fit. like, he
seriously got pissed. he made a huge deal
about it the entire night & was
completely immature about it. i was like,
"dad, .i'm his mother. you just got over
larengitis. i don't want anyone holding
him or touching him without washing their
hands first. i'm going to ask you every
time, so get used to it."
.he damn near ruined the night!

Hey! I took Brayden out at about two
weeks, but thats only because it was
colder out when he was born! I think
takin him out would be fine. If you can
tho I would try to schedule trips to the
stores in the morning or early afternoon
before schools get out and people get off
work that way they aren't very busy and he
won't have as high of a risks of getting
sick!!
O and i didn't get a chance to comment of
recent pictures of him but he's adorable!!

joseph wenty out at 3 days old, but i
thought i had everything i needed and
realized i didnt lol so i had to run to
walgreens. Never busy in that store i
worked there but was on maternity leave.
jordynne was a couple weeks old but it was
winter and too cold i didnt even want to
go outside. i had a cover for the carseat
and all but i stayed inside unless i
absolutely had to, but if the weathers
nice a walk is good. joseph was born in
august in florida so yeah wasnt to bad.

Mia was 2 weeks old before i took her out
into public places. And that is only
because i am a single parent and had to
because there wasnt' any body else to do
it. I was paranoid as all hell. I hated
it.
I started taking her outside like right
after we got home...i couldn't stay cooped
up all day long. she had a touch of
jaundice too and the doc said too....so
that is what i did.

I wouldn't stress about the whole hand
sanitizer thing. We have one when you
walk into our living room and one on the
other side. Anyone who walks near the
baby uses it. We simply point and say
"use it". He's your baby, and what you
want people to do they should respect it.
He would probably love to go for a walk
and the fresh air would be great for him.
Go in public when your ready is what his
doc says. We took .Jaylon out after a dr.
appt, but I was hyper-vigilant not to let
anyone near him. I had my mother bear
look I'm sure. He has a good imunity in
your breastmilk. You will do what is
right, I'm sure.

It won't hurt him as long as it isn't a
place with a *ton* of people around. Chu
liked going for walks as a little baby.
It kept him calm.

Trey was 5 days old when we took our first
walk outside for 10 minutes. And I took
him to an air conditioned mall when he was
a week old cause we were having a heat
wave and the nurse told me to take him
out.
He was fine. I mean look at where they
stay for the first few days of their life.
A hospital that's full of germs.

Oni was 2 days old when I put her outside
for the 1st time. It was the 1st day we
came home.
She hated being inside. And spend the 1st
3 months of her life outside in her
vibrating seat.
Be careful if you decide to walk him. THe
wind can *easily* take his breath away.
More pics girl! More pics!!!!!!!!!
