I Need to Know the Right Birth Control Method to Get On... Posted: 03-27-07 12:17pm
Well, me and my new boyfriend are getting
pretty emotionally close and think that
sometime in the future (not anytime soon
but if we stay together for more than 6
months at least) that we want to have sex.
He's a virgin, so the whole STD thing
doesnt worry me in his case. But I have
been paranoid about any sort of problem
when it comes to sex ever since I had a
scare about HPV not long ago (which turned
out to be a yeast infection by the grace
of God LOL). But ever since then I feel
like I have been taking it alot more
seriously and the idea of simply using a
condom just doesn't feel very safe to me.
I really want to be on birth control, but
my mom is strongly against sex before
marriage and I know that she would
probably try (key word... TRY and not
succeed lol) to make me break up with if
she knew we were planning on having sex in
the future, since i'm just 16. I want to
get a job so I can get on birth control
myself, but I feel like just using a
condom isn't very safe because they can
break so easily. Can anybody help me
figure out what to do?

find a planned parenthood near you.if you
do not have a job bc should be free.there
are also other things you can use like
spermacide foam! you do not need your
mothers concent to get it.

I agree with the others. When used as
intended condoms are very effective.
Spermicide is also available over the
counter for added protection. Your mother
doesn't have to have anything to do with
it unless you want to include her. If you
can drive or get a ride to Planned
Parenthood or Family Planning, you can get
whatever kind of birth control you want.
If you go there, someone will sit down and
discuss your birth control options with
you so that you can decide what is right
and safe for you.

Right! I can vouch for condoms, I used
them for 4 months before I got onto birth
control pills.
