My Hospital Visit!

Ok well my appt was for 3.45 and I was
told to be there 5-10 mins early.
I got there at like 3.47
so, I give my name, show my appt letter
and they tell me to take a seat.
At 5.25 I asked what the delay was and was
told
"it's always busy from 2pm onwards for the
ante-natal clinic."
"yeah? well, I'm not here for ante-natal"
grrrrrr this made me mad seeing as I've
been sat in a room full of pregnant ladies
and babies for over an hour and a half on
today of all days
"well, it's always busy so you'll just
have to wait"
"hold on I have an appt for 3.45"
"yeah, they tell everyone to come at that
time and we just work through in 10 minute
slots"
5.40 I eventually get called but all they
want to do is take my weight, height and
for me to piss in a cup.
Oh and blood pressure - 65/125 - lol they
always expect it to be high because of my
weight.
Why do hospitals think the world revovles
around pissing in a cup?
No, I'm not pregnant.
No, I do not have a uti, although every pee
test so far has said I have protein in my
urine!
So I get to sit back in the lobby for
another 10 mins before I get to see the
gyn.
Finally someone apologises for the delay
I go through my story...
And she says "I really don't think I am
qualified to advise you on this"
Ok well that's honest - I can deal with
that.
So I now get referred for an "expert gyn
scan" with this super experienced dude
called chintac.
then I get referred to this Reproductive
Endocrinologist, who is a professor in
uterine anomalies.
At last.
OK so I have to wait a few weeks for an
appt but whats a few weeks after 2 1/2
years?
Then they whisked me off to drain me of
the red stuff.
they're testing for base lines of FSH
(follicle stimulating hormone), LH
(luteinising hormone) and also testing my
thyroid again.
Oh wait I didn't tell you about that.
OK a few weeks ago I saw my doctor for
blood tests for diabetes, cholesterol and
thyroid.
I have no signs of diabetes. My
cholesterol is low - haha that got them
because they were so sure it would be high
due to my weight.
My thyroid test was abnormal and he wanted
me to retest in 3 months (well 2 from now)
but they are taking it on at the
hospital.
so maybe we can finally get some
answers???

Actually, 65/125 is the correct way to say
it. That is really good. Wow!! I hope you
get some answers, too.

.Hmmm...here it would be 125/65. 120/80
is considered "normal". Maybe everywhere
is different?

hmmmm I googled and it seems almost
everywhere now shows it as (in this case)
125/65 but in the UK at least it has
always been 65/125 - even the machine that
tests it has the numbers 65 in the top box
and 125 in the box underneath.
how odd - I bet this is something to do
with brussels the ec and tony blair ugh
but 125 systolic is "high end of normal"
and 65 diastiolic is borderline "low blood
pressure/hypotension" - go figure lol
I remember panicing nurses in hospital
once because they got bp readings from me
in the region of 90/30 or something which
technically means I was in a coma even
though I was up and moving about

moved out of ICU lol

yeah, it should be
interesting.
I specifically requested to be referred to
a different hospital because my local one
knew nothing (I mean nothing)
about uterine anomalies at all.
but at this one (it's a university
hospital) they have specialists and
professors and all sorts of people, so
it'll be interesting to say the least and
not to mention they are actually
interested in my case lol

I hope now that you will be seeing someone
qualified they will be able to answer some
of your questions. And congrats on the bp,
that is great! Mine was normally 145-115.
(before the meds) It is not a great
feeling.
