Has Anyone...?

For any of you who are or have been pregnant, has anyone actually been pregnant but continued to have negative pregnancy tests for a time?

I have a good friend describe some strange symptoms and then tell me that she is convinced that she is pregnant even though she's had multiple negative pregnancy tests. I told her to go to the doctor but she has horrible insurance and has to wait another couple of weeks until she gets paid again. She is over one month late, is having extremely bad heartburn which is causing some nausea, and is having to use the restroom a lot. Other than that she has no other pregnancy symptoms.

I'm just curious if it is possible to be pregnant (at this point she would be considered 9 weeks pregnant) and still have negative pregnancy tests.

Thanks in advance!
Peace,
Jenn

Its probably just a mental thing. alot of times if you lie and stick to that lie you start believing it right. If you have signs of being pregnant and you keep thinking that you are no matter if you have had a neg. test or what. Your mind plays tricks on you and my best friend has had that problem.
I hope this makes since because I reread it and it sounds stupid. : )

I fooled myself into thinking I was pregnant so many times! I seriously had all the symptoms and I was late and all.

She probably just did that to herself. I am pretty sure that her hormone levels would be high enough to show if she is having symptoms.

the "norm" is to get a positive after a missed period however there are many women whom the test just simply does not work for them. The best thing in these cases is to get bloodwork done.

For my friend, it's most ASSUREDLY not a desire to be pregnant or a lie that she is pregnant. She doesn't want to be pregnant and she was on birth control but had to take a regimen of antibiotics for a harsh sinus infection and was worried that her birth control would be less effective. Now, she's more than a month late. In fact, she should be on another period right now and still hasn't had one so in a few more days if she doesn't have one, she will have missed two periods.

Thanks to everyone for replying. I will tell her to get a blood test as soon as she gets paid again.
Peace,
Jenn
