Thickened Small Intestine? Posted: 02-17-04 12:37pm
Hi i'm almost two years post op open rny.
Two months after my surgery I developed a
bowel obstruction caused by adhesions and
had another surgery to fix it, after that
everything was fine. About three weeks
ago I started having some pain after
eating or drinking, so I went to my pcp
and he ordered a ct scan of abdomen but he
could not see anything wrong. Than the
pain stopped. Three days ago I woke up at
4am because of the same type of pain, so I
went to see my surgeon and I gave him the
ct scan films, he showed it to the
radiology technicians in his hospital.
Yesterday he called me and said that the
small intestine is thickened. I'm going
to have an upper gi tomorrow. Can any one
explain what that could mean please?
