Q: Is vaginal discharge during pregnancy normal?
asked by: DoctorQuestion on March 30th, 2007
I have this really thick discharge whenever I wipe after urinating or during a shower. It is clear and it doesn't itch or smell. I am 7 weeks pregnant and my next doctors visit isn't for another 4 weeks. What is this and is it normal? Should I be concerned?

Clear vaginal discharge is often present during pregnancy but a vaginal infection must first be excluded!!! You should visit your gynecologist to exclude possible vaginal infection (colpitis). Colpitis during pregnancy can cause very serious complications to the pregnancy so it should be detected on time and treated properly.
