A doctor said to us that they make surgery
without anesthesia!!! How
can it be? Is it really so? May be we
don't understand something?

The general public views Anesthesia as
medications that put you to sleep.
Anesthesia is very broad statement. A
local injection that causes numbness is
considered anesthesia. Like at the
dentists office. So to answer your
question. NO they do not do surgery
without Anesthesia. They do do surgery
without putting people to sleep. There are
several ways. Epidurals are the most
common. Like during delivery most women
will opt for the epidural. This causes
them to feel no pain from mid torso down.
hey will however feel pressure. An
Epidural is considered a form of
Anesthesia. To provide good working
conditions for the surgeon there must be
some sort of pain control or the patient
would be unable to remain still. Therefore
anesthesia MUST be given in some form.
Even if it by local injections.
