that sucks, i am in the same boat, well we know my husband is going not to iraq but afghanistant. its just a matter of when and it will be this yr, imhoping later when the kids are older. so the plane ride back to fla isnt as rough. its almsot inevitable they all get sent sooner or later. so hard to deal with to, will this be his first time going? my husband this will be his 1st going to the war. it sucks.

ya thats how i am . liek you know you can handle it but then when the time comes its like a smack in the face . reality sets in. my husband has his first will and testimony and life insurance papers and powers of attorney all ready in case. that day he brought that home reality hit me that its becoming real now. i am going to my parents though for the time he is gone, too much drama here for me to be here alone with my kids on this small base where i might run into that little girl again. so id rather be around family etc. plus we will be saving alota money and getting BAH from florida he said. i just wont have my car at my parents or anything but in the long run it will be better.

im really sorry to hear that

i hope he doesnt have to go, thatd really suck

my dh is leaving for bahrain (not quite the same but still dangerous-ish) in july as its set now, about a month after his daughter is due, thankfully he is going to be here for her birth though

vanessa, does that mean hes not going to be able to see his daughters birth or after for like half a year or something? that sucks, im really sorry

i hate the thought of trevor leaving, his daughter is going to be at least 7 monthes when he gets back, shes not even gonna know him and hes not gonna know her

i dont know how so many people do it where they leave before the baby is born and get back after, i dont think i would be able to handle that

we find out tomorrow, its now only down to him or one other guy which basically means if it isnt him tomorrow hell be on the next one out for sure. Part of me wants him to go because this billet is for a surgical tech which more than likely means hell be at a camp doing surgery so thats better that a field corpsman where he goes out with the troops that are in the line of fire. Im seriously considering going back to FL too. I know ill go for a while, i just cant decide if Im gunna move out and pocket the bah or not cuz i dont wanna deal with moving back in

Yikes! That sucks .dani. If I were in your position, I too would want my hubby to go this time around, and be in the surgery tent....because if he's already gotta go one of these times, it's better to go sooner....then he'll be back that much sooner.
