Interesting information.
I started my child on solids around 3 1/2
months, perhaps a little earlier. He now
has serious digestive problems and I have
always wondered if we started him on
solids too early. I am sure a lot of
children are fine that start on solids
this early. I just think it was probably a
little too early for my .Nate. I will
never really know. I will probably hold
off a little longer with this child due to
Nate's problems.
Good luck!!!

I didn't start this post to
start an argument... I just wanted to see
when you all started on solids because I
was nervous about starting her. Sorry if
it's starting a "he said" "she said"
disagreement.
You didn't start anything, They started
it. So dont' worry about it. I just
wanted to say that you are the mother and
if you think that your daughter needs to
start on solids then start her. she will
also let you know if she is ready....go
with your instinct. No book can tell you
what is right for you and your family.

sarah, what was his
reasoning for putting her on solids so
early?
the cereal at 3 weeks was to fill her up
because she was drinking soooo much
formula. And to sleep better at night.
(which she did)
The solid(veggies, he didn't want her on
fruits period but I did em anyways),
meeeeh, I'm not sure. I tried it at 5
weeks, but more than likely overfed her
(as it's easy to do with a spoon). So I
decided to wait.
I felt like if she didn't take, she didn't
take and I'd wait till she could grasp the
idea better. Luckily, she did. 10 weeks is
early, but so is 3 weeks.
He is *very very* old fashioned. And I'm
lucky I don't have a child with a
sensitive belly. She took *awesome* to the
cereal and the food.
My next child will prob have a tender
belly and not be able to start solids so
early. Which wouldn't bother me at all.
