I just got back from my 18 week
ultrasound. Turns out I am having a boy
but they found some abnormalities. They
saw that there was a hole where the
umbilical cord and there is membranes
forming around it. They also saw that the
bottom of the spine isn't in place. The
brain isn't developing right and there was
something else but forgot. I have an
appointment on monday with a specialist so
that they can see everything on a better
ultrasound and tell me exactly what's
wrong. The doctor said I might need an
amnio. Has anyone ever experienced
something like this to where the doctor
told you something was wrong? I hope and
pray everything will be okay. But there
isn't just one problem going on, there's
numerous problems. With all what's wrong,
do you think my baby will be born with
disabilities or is it nothing too serious?
Please. Someone give me answers. This will
be my first baby and I really want
everything to be okay.

Wow. I am really sorry. I hate to tell you
this, but no one on here will be able to
help you with answers but we can give you
support. There is just no way we can
discern whether or not your baby will be
born with disabilities.
Once you know for sure what is going one,
there are pregnancy support groups for
specific diagnosis. I am on one for my
pregnancy issue and get a lot of support
from other women who are or have
experienced the same issue. This is my
main forum, though:) Even if someone on
here has experienced something similar, it
may not be exactly what you are
experiencing without more information.
I can't imagine waiting until Monday,
though. I will be praying for you. I
really wish I could give you answers, but
I can't. Please please hang in there.

when do you find out for sure hun?? i
wouldnt get upset now tho i know easier
said then done the dr could be wrong and
he could be perfectly healthy just have
faith all will be fine. i will say a
prayer for you
