Question About Wart Freezing
Posted: 04-04-07 22:43pm

Well, I have had about 4 skin tags frozen off in the last year. I seem to get them everywhere! I had a couple in my underarm, one in my groin, and currently one on the top of my shoulder. Unfortunately, I noticed something that looked exactly like one on my penis about a month ago. I went to the doctor and he gave me the worst possible diagnosis, "Its too small to diagnose, it could be a skin tag or a wart!" He then froze it off. A month later I still have a purplish area where it was frozen off at. I'm just wondering if this is going to go away and how long it will take...thanks

I just went for a similar procedure. I was just diagnosed with genital warts, I had a few that were pretty darn small (1-2mm), they were hardly noticeable. The doc froze them off, and now 2 days later they are reddish purplish and seem to have gotten a little bigger. Shocked

I've read on the CDC website that you can under and over treat with the cyro stuff. Apparently its tricky to get a bullseye. I wonder if that's what happened to us.

yeah...I checked back with my doc. He said sometimes is takes 6 months to a year for the mark to go away. Sorry about your diagnosis though. The good thing is that its a pretty minor std, and I've been to a lot of websites that say most genital warts wont come back. I'm still convinced mine was a skin tag though...mostly because i have them everywhere.
