My Day :( Posted: 04-05-07 14:19pm
It began with me thinkin gi was going to
my sister's house to make easter cakes
with my neice and nephew which was all
good and i was happy about but then my
sister called to say she was on the way to
hospital with my neice. Basically my
sister was running both taps to fill up
the sink to give the kids a wash before
getting dressed, she turned around for
litrally 2 seconds to stop her son from
throwing things in the bath and suddenly
.Faith was screaming, she had climbed up
onto the toilet seat and tried to wash her
hands by herself, using only the hot
tap...... My sister put her hand in cold
water imedietly and then soaked a towel in
cold water and wraped it over her arm. her
hand has doubled in size So i went to look
after my nephew while she was a t
hospital. Thankfully .Faith is going to be
ok and they don't think there will be any
perminant scarring.
Then when i got home i went to take my dog
out for a walk. He's a big dog already
even though he's only 7 months so i can
see why he's intimidating but he wouldn't
hurt anyone, he just wants to play. So i
threw a ball for him as you do when your
on a walk, he went running over the field
to get it and then suddenly there was this
woman shouting at me telling me that
.Murphy shouldn't be aloud off the lead
and that he's a danger to people, he
hadn't done anything! He hadn't jumped up
at her, barked or anything! Grrr i hate
people like that

7 month old german
shepard
Awww I'm sorry hun. Some people just see
german shephards as intimidating because
they're often used as guard dogs. Then
again some people just don't like big dogs
regardless of the breed. I hope your niece
gets better soon.. poor little thing =(

I'm sorry about your niece! I hope she
feels better soon.
I kind of understand where the lady is
coming from. I had two pits and I never
let them off the leash in public. The few
times my husband did it I tore him a new
one. Everyone thinks that their dog is
harmless, but the truth is you can never
be sure. You know how your dog will react
to you not how your dog will react to
other people. I had a terrier once that I
swore would never bite. She was the
happiest, friendliest dog I had ever seen
and she got along with everyone except my
husband. She bit him. That lady was
probably just afraid, I would be too. I
know my dogs, but I don't know anyone
else's. Were you at a dog walk or just a
field?

Just at a fielld up the road from my house
where it's very common to see people
walking dogs. It just annoyed me so much
that he hadn't actually done anything, if
he had jumped up or barked i would
understand but he was just quite happy
walking back to me with a ball in his
mouth.
My neice .Faith had the bandages taken off
yesterday to check for blistering but
there wasn't any, my sister needs to keep
her arm in a bandage when it's really
sunny throughout this summer just to be on
the safe side but other than that there
will be no scarring and she's going to be
fine

I'm glad she's okay! Burns are nothing to
mess around with. I stuck a hairpin in a
socket when I was three and I've still got
a black mark on my left middle finger to
this day because of it. My whole hand was
burnt and my fingers looked like split,
charred hot dogs. I still remember that
pain of that very clearly.

The doctor said that if anything she'll
have a scar of about 2cms across her
thumb, so not alot to worry about thank
god.
