Recommendations for irregular menstrual periods Posted: 04-05-07 18:11pm
My family has a history of irregular
cycles for periods but lately mine has
been jumping worse than ever. Some monthes
I don't get it at all for like 2 straight
and then others its going on for a whole
month just skipping a few days here and
there what do you recommend

According to your description you could be
experiencing menometrorrhagia. In your
case ,it is not clear whether you have
your period (menstruation) or are spotting
(metrorrhagia). Irregular vaginal bleeding
can be an organic dysfunction due to
tumors or infection. Irregular periods
can also be due to functional dysfunction
caused by hormonal imbalance. Functional
bleedings are treated with birth control
pills. Organic bleedings are treating
according to the diagnosis.
You can consult a gynecologist. A vaginal
examination, Pap-test, hormonal analyses
and ultrasound scan will be probably
requested.
