Now I'm Ticked
Posted: 04-07-07 14:02pm

Chu was sick all of the week before last. He started to get better around tuesday/wednesday and then yesterday I took him to the doc for his last set of shots. He got sick a few hours after his last shots yest. I called his doctor's office today since he's still cranky and running a temp (they have abbreviated hours one sat a month) and the stupid *beep* told me that it's common for that to happen after the pneumonia and dpt shots that he got. They gave him dpt after I specifically told them that he couldn't have that shot. I'm soooo angry that I'm ready to sue. what is it with doctors playing God? If I say that I don't want my son to have that particular shot then I don't want him to have it. Period. End of sentence. I'm soooo effing po'd. He's screaming and acting mean. If he starts to wheeze or anything else then we're going straight to the er. I gave him some baby aspirin for the discomfort/fever. If he has any other side effects I'll see their asses in court. I told them about our family history with that shot! I gave them my refusal of it in writing for goodness' sake!!! Let him wheeze once and they'll be paying for his college education and my new house! Stupid goat doing it, @*$%! no namers!!!!!!

Yikes. So your family has allergic reactions to that med such as wheezing. That is pretty serious. I would be really ticked off as well. What did the nurse say when you told her you didn't want the shot. It does sound like you have a good case. I wouldn't go back to that doctors. If they can't follow a simple request then what??

She didn't say anything. She mumbled something inaudible and hung up. I def have a copy of the letter that I sent them after the first visit when I discussed this with the doctor. Somebody in that office signed the green certified slip. I have to find the slip though for my proof of delivery. What the heck happened to patient right to refuse? Ugh, they're going down!

its pretty freaking dangerous to give vaccines when the immune system is compromised, especially the DTap, or dtp. i would find a new doc office, that is risking your childs life. no namers.

I'm sorry to hear they were ignorant and gave .chu a shot you specifically said not to. I hope he's feeling better. I would definately make it very well known to many people that they messed up. That could have turned very very serious, and next time they mess up someone may not be as lucky as .chu and recover like that.
