Confused Pregnant Teen
Posted: 04-09-07 11:00am

I am 17 years old and haven't had my period in like 2 mnths now and the EPT test I took came out posotive so I'm pretty sure I'm pregnant. But I'm making a Dr. appt. today to go take an offical test.

I'm in severe need of help and someone to talk to.

My boyfriend is behind me 100% of the way with whatever I choose. Which makes me feel alot better. But theres so many pro's and cons to all the options for someone my age.

We both love kids but aren't quite ready yet. We neither one agree with abortion except in cases such as rape but never as "birth control" as in our situation. And he agrees with my that if I carried it full term it would be too hard to give it up for adoption to another family.

So could anyone offer their opnions to me?? Please.

So please use the poll but also reply and leave reasoning, advice and such.

I don't think a pool was your best idea in honesty because a decision like this can only be made from your heart. for some adoption is right, for another abortion and some keep the baby. I can only tell you what i did, i'm 15 and 29 weeks pregnant, i hope this helps you.

this is a pregnancy support forum.
abortion will not be suggested or supported in here.
there is an abortion forum on this site where you will not be judged for your choice and will be given support in your decision.

please do not ask others to make this choice for you - for this reason I have removed the poll.

Well I decided last night I wanted to keep it and he said that was really what he wanted to and that we just had to start looking for a place and buying everything needed.

Congrats on your decision and pregnancy. I hope everything goes well for you. I know you are young, but things always have a way of working out for the best in the end.

As for the necessities for the baby, you can try consignment shops. They usually have a lot of really nice used stuff. A lot of it, you can't even tell is used.

Good luck to you.

i am glad you decided to keep it. like the others have said we will never say anything but to keep it. especially when you go to the Dr and they do an ultrasound and you see your little baby bean, it is awesome!
are you still in high school? or graduating in a few?
it will all work out and you are just meant to be a young mom, at least you will bounce back quicker!

yes, it's one of the first thing you find out.
no due date is 100% but is an EDD - Estimated due date.

Kia is saying that a due date is only estimated, it is not an exact science. Your estimated due date is worked out by counting forward 40 weeks from the date of your last menstrual period, so it's something that's worked out early on. Of course, the baby could arrive early or late.

I can tell you that children are the most magnificent and humbling creatures on the face of the planet. Nothing in the world-not stories, classes, education, or a Master's degree in child development (like mine) can truly prepare you for your life with children. So when I or other people tell you how much your life will change when you have a child, don't just smile and nodd. take what they say and then magnify it bu 10,000 fold. Having children means wearing your heart on the outside of your body for the rest of your life. It is not something to be taken lightly. If you decide to do this, which it sounds like you have, prepare to give your whole self to loving and caring for this baby. There is no going "halfsies" on this. It's all the way. I would suggest that you see a doctor or midwife right away, and be sure to make every prenatal appointment. Educate yourself thoroughly about your birth choices. Attend some childbirth education classes that offer different points of view. Eat healthy. Get plenty of rest. enjoy this tiime before your baby comes, not only to prepare a place of love in your home, but also to enjoy your life before children with your bf before the baby arrives. The nicest thing that I did before my first child arrived was we went to a beautiful bed and breakfast for a long weekend. He rubbed my feet and got me a massage. We slept late and took long walks. It is one of my fondest memories.
