I might be terminating the baby after the
amnio comes back because my baby has
trisomy 13. Can someone tell me who's had
an abortion, tell me what all happens and
if it hurts and being 18 weeks, how will
they abort it? Please don't judge me. I am
not 100% sure yet. I just want information
on it

Well, you might get some angry pro-lifers
here on the debate board, but hopefully we
can give you the love and support you need
There's absolutely nothing wrong with
wanting to make this desicion.
At 18 weeks, all studies so far show that
the fetus does not feel pain. At 18 weeks,
I believe the safest and quickest way is
th surgical abortion. They will dialate
the cervix by a few centimeters (no where
near how far it goes at birth!) and go in
with curettes to remove the fetus and
clean the uterus. There may be cramping
for you during this, but I believe that
anesthesia is available in some places.
