Okay, we started veggies last week.
I do one veggie for 3 days then switch.
I'll do fruits next. Then what?
She gets oatmeal for lunch and veggies for
dinner.
So after she masters fruits and veggies,
move on to stage 2 or go back to veggies
and fruits she already likes?
While i'm testing them can I keep giving
her one that she likes and didn't have a
reaction to for dinner and do the new ones
for lunch or something.
I'm soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
confused.
She's 5 months by the way and loves to eat
from a spoon. She doesn't eat much
though, about 10 spoonfuls and then a 6 oz
bottle to wash it down.

i'm still confused but here's what we're
doing...
8:30am- 6oz bottle
12pm- 3 Tablespoons oatmeal with 1/2 thing
of fruit or veg followed by a 6oz bottle
4pm- 6oz bottle
6pm- 3 tablespoons oatmeal with 1/2 fruit
or veg
7:30pm- 6oz bottle
i'm going to start giving him oatmeal in
the morning soon and then switching to 1/2
fruit & 1/2 veg for lunch and oatmeal
and veg for dinner. i'm just winging it.
i also didn't wait to start him on fruits,
i started them the same time as veg and he
doesn't really care for fruits that much.
he *loves* sweet potatoes and carrots and
*hated* green beans.
i think it would be ok to give her
something you know agrees with her for
lunch while testing new foods for dinner.

We do (roughly):
6:30/7: 6 oz bottle
2-3 hour nap
10/10:30: oatmeal & 6 oz. bottle
2-3 hour nap
2/2:30: 6 oz. bottle
1-2 hour nap
5/5:30: new veggie and 6 oz. bottle
1 hour nap
8/8:30: 8 oz. bottle
bedtime by 9:30
She's been waking up again for whatever
reason, but it only takes a few ounces or
a walk around the room to put her back to
sleep.
I just thought I'd add those naps.
She's still sleeping alot, she doesn't
want to be up more than 1 1/2 to 2 hours
max.
She weighs 18 lb 4 oz.
We went to the dr. today to recheck her
ear, it's fine. However, when I was
changing her while over there she had a
glob of green mucus on her privates. He's
checking her for a UTI. We'll find out
the results in about 3 days. She's been
forcing and whining when she pees. A
couple of times when she came back from my
mom's house and I changed her, there was a
little poo in her privates. My mom
doesn't clean her good enough I guess. I
wonder if that would have caused it.
Sorry, got a little off track from the
food.
I think I may move the oatmeal to the
first morning bottle, then do "old"
veggies at 10:30, then new food at 5:30.
I can't wait until she eats what we eat.
She's getting so big and more independent.
It's getting much easier! I wish she
wouldn't nap so much. It seems like by
now she'd cut out at least one nap. She
needs her beauty sleep.

Oh, and I might add that when my mom
watches her, she only takes about 3 one
hour naps and is a big crab when I get
home. She naps for about 3 hours when I
get home. She's pooped. I've told her
24872038539 times to make sure she sleeps
a little more, but it goes through one ear
and out the other.

wow, she does sleep a lot! finn sleeps
from 7:30pm-8am and then he'll take a
short morning nap (1/2 hour-1 hour) and
then about a 2 hour afternoon nap. he's
exhausted by 6 but we entertain him and
keep him up until we start his bedtime
routine at 7.
i hope she doesn't have a uti!

aww, my daughter got a uti when she was
younger....it was pure hell. Did they have
to catheterize her to get a urine sample?
That's what they did for .adriana. But I
guess it's very easy for a baby girl to
get uti's, especially since they are in
diapers. But my doctor also told me not to
let .adriana sit in the tub for any longer
than needed. Which sucks, because she
loves her baths. I guess a bath can cause
uti's too. So never put any bubbles or
anything in her bath. I always wash
.adriana, then drain the tub and make sure
I get all the soap residue out, then we
fill it up again and let her play for a
bit....and we haven't had anymore
problems.
And as far as sleeping a lot....my
daughter slept a lot when she was that age
too. it wasn't until she was about 7 or 8
months until she went down to 2 naps, and
now she's 1 and naps just once a day boy do I miss the
days when she was a sleepy baby! She might
be doing most of her growing now too.
And we had better success with oatmeal,
than rice. Rice constipated my
daughter....so she normally had to have
prunes mixed in her rice. But as long as
you mush up your food really good....I
don't see why she can't have your food.
It's better for her than baby food, much
fresher as well.

She's growing a lot right now. She
completely skipped 3-6 month clothes it
seems like. She was only in them for
about a month now she wears 9 month.
She's very crabby if she's up more than 90
minutes. It's like clockwork. Rice gave
her bad gas, she's doing okay with
oatmeal. she takes quick baths laying
down with dove soap. I don't think it's
the baths.

Yeah, if she's getting sponge baths I
don't think it was that. It's just super
easy for girls to get them.
I'm almost positive it was the bath in our
situation, just because I was unaware I
wasn't supposed to let her "soak".
Adriana grew tons in the first 9 mos. She
basically skipped 12 mos clothes. She wore
them literally for about a week. Then she
went into 18 months, and that's where
she's still at. There are some 18 mos that
are too small, and others fit, and some
are big (don't you love how they have one
standard size? )
and then she can wear a few of her 24
mos/2t clothes. So, lil .ava sounds a
whole lot like .adriana, just about
everything you described is how .adriana
was. Weird.
