Treatment options for L5-S1 Sacro-Illiac pain
Posted: 04-10-07 08:20am

Could the Sacro-iliac joint or L5 nerve be causing the pain in the buttock area, pain where the pelvis meets the outer left hamstring area, and pain in the inner left hamstring just above where it attaches to the knee. If so, what are my treatment alternatives.

The pressure that disc L5-S1 creates on the posterior root of the L5 spinal nerve can cause pain in the mentioned areas: pain in the mid/inner left buttock, pain where the pelvis meets the left outer hamstring, and tightness in the left inner hamstring just above where it attaches to the knee. You might want to consult a neurosurgeon about surgical removal of the disc or other treatment alternatives.
